This 2023 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS is an extremely low mileage, heavily optioned example featuring the Weissach package. It is powered by a mid-mounted 4.0-litre flat-six-cylinder engine which develops 368kW/450Nm. This power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The odometer of this car currently shows 437km from new. For years, Porsche resisted applying the legendary RS badge to the Cayman for fear that the nimble, mid-engined alternative would eclipse its bigger GT3 sibling. As such, the GT4 RS was developed by a break-away group of Porsche’s racing engineers – it was not strictly intended for production.

But that all changed in 2022 when the German manufacturer unveiled the most hardcore iteration of the Cayman to date – and likely to be the last of its kind. It’s powered by the same race-ready 4.0-litre engine used in Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Cars and it draws on the old-school theory of “there’s no replacement for displacement”. This means the big engine sends the GT4 RS from zero to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds. The other ingredients are familiar: a race-tuned chassis, lightweight componentry, and minimal sound deadening.

These are certain to become collector’s items in the future, especially with the Cayman replacement becoming all-electric. This GT4 RS is painted in Shark Blue on the exterior and features the optional Weissach package. But the options list goes on. From the factory, this car was fitted with a Deep Sea Blue Race-Tex interior (and black leather), carbon ceramic brakes, Club Sport package, Bose sound system, carbon-fibre illuminated door sills, Chrono package, front lift system, window triangle trims in carbon-fibre, sun visors in Race-Tex, and a painted vehicle key. It runs on a set of satin ‘Neodyme’ 20-inch GT4 RS wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. Built new by Porsche in Zuffenhausen, Germany and delivered through Porsche Centre Melbourne in May 2023, this GT4 RS is practically brand new.

It is a one-owner vehicle that has largely sat idle since delivery. It is now totally covered in full-vehicle paint protection film. Exterior condition is unmarked of any damage and presents in immaculate order. The Shark Blue paint glistens beautifully in the sun and carbon-fibre elements such as the bonnet, side intakes, and rear wing, gloss nicely. There are no marks of kerb rash damage seen on any of the four painted wheels, while tyres are in near-new condition. Inside, this car is similarly untouched.

There is no wear and tear identified on the Race-Tex seat inserts and no creasing is noted on the leather seat bolsters. The carpeting appears without a mark of stain or scuff. This Porsche will come with all original documentation, race harnesses, a fire extinguisher, Porsche battery tender, and two colour-matched keys. The heritage number plates registered to the vehicle are not included in the sale.
