This 2018 Abarth 595 Competizione is a striking example of an Italian pocket rocket and has been owned by just one person since new. Under the bonnet lies a turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine which produces 132kW and 250Nm. Drive is sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The odometer of this car currently shows 20,555km. Hot hatch fanatics seldom think of Abarth as a viable way to get a thrill out on the open road, but the Abarth 595 Competizione flies under the radar as a genuine grin-inducing performance car. Abarth has been tuning pint-sized Italian models since the 1950s and the Abarth 595 Competizione is one of the most desirable in today’s age.

It’s a step-up within the Abarth range featuring equipment such as a metallic gear shifter, leather steering wheel and seats, and a digital instrument cluster. But the real drawcard that keeps Abarth fans enthused is the rorty 1.4-litre engine which punches well above the vehicle’s tiny 1045kg weight grade. Not only does it provide enough output to shoot the Competizione from zero to 100km/h in 6.7 secs, but it sounds like an absolute firecracker doing it. This example is painted Modena Yellow on the outside and specifies a black leather and Alcantara-clad cabin.

Exterior highlights are finished in darker shades for a strong, black-and-yellow colour combination and there are no aftermarket modifications to speak of. The car rides on a set of 17-inch alloy wheels which hide a set of yellow Brembo brake calipers. Fitted tyres are Michelin Pilot Sports. Built new in Poland by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in February 2018 and complied through Australia in April 2018, this Abarth was delivered new in Brighton, Victoria. It is a one-owner car which has not been used regularly within the last 12 months. The car has had three services altogether, all completed by the selling dealership.

It has just had a new battery installed. There are no issues with the car mechanically, according to the seller. Exterior-wise, this Abarth presents in great condition and few signs of imperfection are seen. Modena Yellow paintwork displays in good order throughout and strong reflections are seen in the finish. Some damage is noted; including a scuff on the left side of the front bar, two chips in the paintwork beneath the boot, and some scratching underside the front bumper. Kerb rash damage appears on the left-side wheels.

Inside the cabin only minor marks of wear and tear are identified. Carbon-backed Sabelt bucket seats show some light scuffing on the driver’s-side seat back, while no obvious sagging is seen in the fabric or bolsters. Light scratches are seen on the backside of the rear seats and some subtle scuffs are shown on interior plastics such as the door cards and around the centre console. Carpeting and floor mats show no signs of scuffing or staining. This car will come with all accompanying documentation and tool set and 1 key. As per Trading Garage’s Terms and Conditions, although Trading Garage have completed the following checks, bidders must satisfy themselves to the accuracy of the description and do any research, they feel necessary before bidding.

All listings are sold in Australian dollars. This vehicle is currently registered in VIC until 21/6/24. There is no security interests registered on the PPSR against the serial number and it is not recorded as written off or stolen.
