This 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG is a low-kilometre, two-owner vehicle with a documented history. It is the last of the V8-powered SLKs. Power is supplied by a naturally-aspirated 5.5-litre V8 engine which produces 310kW and 540Nm. These outputs are sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed automatic transmission. The odometer of this car currently displays 28,729km. Often derided as the “baby SL”, the Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG has now enjoyed a resurgence as one of the brand’s best-value, V8-powered sports cars. Especially, considering the rest of Mercedes-Benz’s range has now moved to smaller-capacity engines, and the SLK model itself is now discontinued.

The R172-generation was introduced in 2011 featuring design elements borrowed from the Mercedes-Benz CLS executive sedan and SLS AMG supercar. The SLK was designed to take on the likes of the Porsche Boxster and BMW Z4 but featured a powerful and characterful V8 engine where its rivals relied on six-cylinder power. It was later updated in 2015 with a mid-life refresh which changed its name and reduced the engine size. However, the SLC 43 AMG successor didn’t enjoy as much success and the model line was killed off in 2020. Finished in Obsidian Black on the outside and upholstered with black leather, this black-on-black colour combination suits the SLK 55 AMG. There are no aftermarket modifications made to the car and it retains its as-delivered specification. It features a glass Vario-roof.

It rides on a set of 18-inch five-spoke AMG alloy wheels, wrapped in Continental tyres. Built by Mercedes-AMG in Germany and complied in Australia in June 2012, this SLK 55 AMG has a documented history and two owners. It was originally delivered by Mercedes-Benz Hornsby which also performed initial servicing. Since then, the current owner took delivery in 2017 and has since had it serviced by Bocchino Motors in May 2022. In terms of exterior presentation, this car shows in great order – reflective of its low mileage. The Obsidian Black paintwork displays no undue blemishes or imperfections and a strong reflection can be seen in its metallic finish. The owner notes a noticeable stone chip on the bonnet.

No other marks of wear and tear are obvious. There is no kerb rash damage noted on any of the four wheels. Inside the cabin, this SLK appears in brilliant order. The leather upholstery appears to retain an original shape without sag, while the leather itself contains no scuffs or scratches. Switchgear and instrumentation show no obvious wear and tear. Light wear is noted on the steering wheel suede, as expected with use. No scuff marks are obvious on the door panels or on the carpeting/floor mats.

This car will come with all accompanying booklets and manuals, in addition to two keys. As per Trading Garage’s Terms and Conditions, although Trading Garage have completed the following checks, bidders must satisfy themselves to the accuracy of the description and do any research, they feel necessary before bidding.
