HSV introduced the E Series 2 range in September 2009, updating its VE-based performance vehicles with revised styling and equipment. The Maloo R8 combined a two-seat utility body with the LS3 V8, independent rear suspension and HSV performance brakes. E2 changes included a reshaped front fascia, daytime running lights and a bonnet with twin scoops, while Competition Mode electronic stability control expanded the chassis electronics.

This example is retained by its current owner for eight years and accompanied by its original service book. Its HSV plate records Maloo R8 build number 0214, completed on 30 October 2009 in Voodoo, while the manufacturer’s plate records an LS3 engine. The seller reports one previous owner and eight years of current ownership, during which they relocated from Sydney to the Gold Coast. They advise that the vehicle has always been garaged and has rarely been driven in rain, and represent the displayed kilometres as original. The most recent service was undertaken by an independent specialist, although its date and odometer reading have not been supplied. The original service book remains with the vehicle.

The seller describes the paintwork and interior as original and in excellent condition, noting small stone chips on the lower front bumper lip. They clarify that the white markings and apparent upholstery fading visible in some photographs are reflections from the strong sunlight during photography, rather than marks or fading on the vehicle.
