This 2008 Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe has been pampered and garaged since new and has had just two owners. Under its bonnet sits a 6.75-litre V12 engine that produces 338kW and 720Nm. This power is fed through a six-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels. The odometer of this car displays 16,874km. The Rolls-Royce Phantom was a flagship luxury grand tourer built by, arguably, the best luxury car manufacturer in the world. The Phantom sedan made its debut in 2003, while the two-door Phantom Drophead Coupe was introduced four years later with styling derived from the 100EX concept and the earlier Phantom sedan.

It used the same 6.75-litre V12 engine as the earlier Phantom – a trademark feature of the nameplate that is still in use today. It features rear-hinged coach doors for a dramatic ingress and exit, and the model is famous for its two-tone colour scheme with a stainless steel bonnet. It was also notable for having teak wood panelling where the soft-top roof stows when not in use. Phantoms were characterised by only the best cabin materials – the interior is appointed with extensive wood panelling, metallic switchgear, and fine-grain leather. The thick carpeting is also a highlight.

All Rolls-Royce Phantoms are highly specified as standard and this car is no different. It was ordered new in Merlot Red metallic, a special paint finish, while the interior is upholstered with cream leather. There are no aftermarket modifications with this car and it remains in as-delivered specification. It rides on a set of 21-inch Rolls-Royce alloy wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle tyres. Manufactured at Rolls-Royce’s Goodwood facility and complied new in Australia in June 2008, this Phantom Drophead Coupe has had just two owners since new. The current owners have held the vehicle for over a decade.

Presently, it lives a sheltered life and is only used on special occasions. All services have been completed by Rolls-Royce Melbourne, with the last one taking place less than 500km ago. The vehicle is said to be in perfect working order. Externally, this Rolls-Royce’s condition is reflective of its limited odometer. The red paintwork shines beautifully in the sunlight and no swirl marks are identified on panels. The brushed stainless steel of the bonnet presents in excellent order, while the exterior chrome trim is polished to a shine.

The black soft-top roof appears in good order without discolouration, and the teak panelling presents immaculate. The four alloy wheels display no kerb rash damage. Inside, the cabin of this Phantom Drophead Coupe looks virtually untouched. There are no marks of damage on the cream leather upholstery and it continues to hold a plush shape. Woodgrain trim on the dashboard, steering wheel, and door panels is still lacquered with a shine. Thick black carpeting shows in good condition and the headlining is unmarked.
