This 2008 Porsche (997) 911 GT3 Clubsport is a two-owner, Australian-delivered car that boasts consistent Porsche Centre maintenance and a tidy black-on-black specification. It is powered by a naturally-aspirated 3.6-litre engine that develops 305kW (415hp). Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. This car’s odometer currently shows 42,335km. The Porsche 911 GT3 is well known for being one of the sharpest sports cars money can buy. With that said, while all GT3 generations are special in their own right, enthusiasts respect the 997 GT3 as the most driver-focused and purest dynamic experience the nameplate can offer.

The defining feature of the 997-generation GT3 is its Mezger engine – a legendary motor derived from Porsche’s iconic 962 and 911 GT1 race cars. The 997-generation was the last GT3 to use the engine, solidifying its status as an icon. It was also renowned for its “zero lift” aerodynamics in which it only created downforce – there was no lift created by the slippery bodywork. The model went on sale in 2006 and subsequently went through a further facelift, though well-sorted 997.1 GT3s are equally as desirable as their update counterparts. Painted in a subdued black-over-black colour combination, this 997 GT3 looks sophisticated whether on the racetrack or on the open road.

It’s a Clubsport example that specifies bucket seats finished in fire-retardant fabric, a bolt-in half roll cage, six-point race harnesses, and a fire extinguisher. The owner has not modified this car from new – aside from painting the original 19-inch alloy wheels black. It also uses a Kenwood Apple CarPlay head unit in place of the original. The wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres and the brake calipers are painted red. Manufactured by Porsche in Zuffenhausen, Germany and delivered new through Porsche Centre Adelaide on February 13, 2008, this GT3’s servicing has only been performed by official Porsche Centres. It is a two-owner car after the current owner purchased the vehicle in 2013.

Initial maintenance was completed by Porsche Centre Adelaide and it’s now regularly serviced by Porsche Centre Brighton. The last major service occurred in 2023 – it is nearly due for its annual service. According to the owner, this car functions in perfect order and nothing requires attention. Enthusiasts will know how difficult it is to keep a black car clean, but this 997 GT3 presents in remarkable condition considering its black-on-black specification. The car was covered in ceramic paint protection so its paintwork presents well, though signs of stone chipping are seen on the front bumper and bonnet. There are some minor door chips seen on the edge of the driver’s door and some subtle scuffs near the wheels – all considered commensurate with this car’s use.

There is no obvious points of kerb rash seen on the black alloy wheels. Inside, this car has been kept in good order. The seats show no obvious stains, they aren’t scuffed, and the fabric hasn’t sagged with age. There are some marks of scuffing on the floor mats, though the Alcantara steering wheel and gear stick show in good stead. No major wear and tear is seen around the switchgear and dash panels. This car will come with its original radio, all books, and two keys.
