This 2008 Ducati Desmosedici RR is a one-owner example with low milage. It has been pampered by a Ducati fanatic since new. Power is supplied by a naturally-aspirated 989cc desmodromic 90-degree four-stroke engine which develops 147kW and 116Nm. These outputs are sent to the rear wheel through a six-speed chain-driven transmission. The odometer of this bike shows 1834km. Ducati famously abandoned Grand Prix racing in the 1970s and it wasn’t until technical rule changes in 2002 that the Italian manufacturer returned to prominent competition. The new regulations favoured four-stroke engines, a Ducati trademark, which prompted the brand to introduce a new racer – the Desmosedici.

The special race-going motorbike won its first MotoGP in 2007 with factory rider Casey Stoner. The Desmosedici RR is a road-going version of the iconic race bike – a limited-production special produced for just two model years from 2007 to 2008. The bike was limited to 1500 examples worldwide and was claimed to be the first true road replica of a MotoGP bike. Due to demand, priority orders were given to proven Ducati diehards. As such, the Desmosedici RR was a particularly difficult bike to procure. Today, the bikes continue to demand top dollar on the used market and they’re destined to remain an investment piece well into the future.

This bike is currently in it's full fairing race trim, although a full road set of fairings, headlights, tail lights and indicators are included. Painted in classic Ducati Red and features the iconic championship winning livery, won by Casey Stoner in the 2007 MotoGP. It is upholstered with a black seat and features silver accents. The bike features carbon-kevlar fairings from Belgium, with painting completed by Raceface in South Australia. The race exhaust and ECU are factory upgrades. It features an aftermarket air filter and is fitted with black SAMCO hoses.

The bike rides on a set of road legal tyres. This special edition bike is numbered 324 of 1500 and has been owned by the same person since new. It was delivered through Ducati Adelaide in 2008. The bike has been serviced by Paul Martinello at Ducati Adelaide and then Justin Wilmott. The bike has no issues nor faults. The bike’s condition is brilliant with respect to its limited mileage.

The red paintwork appears to be in fantastic order, while the various logos and silver accents show without fade or scratches. The owner states that the bike has been ridden on road and on track, so commensurate stone chips can be seen, though overall presentation is impressive. No damage or scratches are seen on the carbon-fibre elements and the seat shows no undue wear and tear. All items included in photos will be supplied with this bike.
