This 2007 MY08 Harley-Davidson V-Rod Night Rod Special is a highly sought after special edition that runs in perfect order and looks as if it has just it rolled off the showroom floor. Power is supplied by a 1250cc four-valve V-twin engine that produces 93kW (125hp). This power output is routed to the rear wheel through a five-speed transmission. Its odometer currently shows 2,321 MILES. Harley-Davidson created the V-Rod series of motorbikes in 2001 to diversify its customer base. Seeking a younger type of buyer, the V-Rod is designed with liquid cooling and overhead camshafts to extract big power from a relatively small displacement engine. Harley engineers tapped Porsche to help design the mechanics.

It’s considered a power cruiser bike; most closely related to muscle cars in the automotive world. It’s become a famous nameplate within the Harley-Davidson line-up and several special editions have been created, including the Night Rod Special. The Night Rod Special features blacked-out components such as its black slotted wheels, and a wide 240-section rear tyre. Though it took some time to find favour with the Harley loyalists, it the V-Rod is now appreciated for its sinister looks and powerful engine. This bike’s classic black-on-black Night Rod Special colour combination still looks striking today, especially with dark orange accents on the tank and wheels. Black components replace the V-Rod’s original chrome.

The seat is upholstered in black leather. The owner has modified the exhaust (though kept the original), otherwise this example is in unmodified condition. It rides on 19-inch wheels wrapped in Dunlop tyres. Manufactured in the United States and delivered new within its home market, this bike has since relocated to Australia. No books are supplied. The bike was imported to Australia in 2011 and converted by Motor Cars International.

It arrived in Australia with 5000 miles showing on the odometer, though this has since been reset. All servicing has been performed by Harley-Davidson dealerships or Harley Heaven in Victoria. Condition-wise, this Night Rod Special presents in great order. With just 2,321 miles on the odometer since it was reset, this bike has been used sparingly, and its presentation is reflective of its sheltered life. There are no imperfections on the glossy paintwork and the black mechanical components display no obvious wear and tear. No damage is seen on its leather seat.

All orange pinstriping displays in unbroken condition without fade. There is no scratch damage on the wheels. No accompanying documentation will be supplied with this bike. However, it does come with two keys and the original exhaust.
