This 2007 BMW (E60) M5 is a two-owner vehicle which benefits from regular maintenance and a selection of performance-oriented modifications. It is powered by a naturally-aspirated 5.0-litre V10 engine that produces 373kW and 520Nm. This power is routed through a six-speed semi-automatic gearbox to the rear wheels. The odometer displays 153,058km. BMW’s days of stuffing high-revving, sweet-sounding V10 engines under the bonnet of unassuming sedans may have been short-lived, but the E60 M5 is now viewed as a high watermark for BMW M.

Though the idea behind BMW’s S85 V10 engine was originally rooted in Formula 1, its application to a road-going M car was a stroke of genius and resulted in incredible performance – zero to 100km/h in 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 330km/h. The luxurious experience inside the cabin remained, as did its controversial Bangle-era styling. But the real drawcard for the E60 M5 is its shrieking V10 engine – no other car of its era had quite as large an engine. In fact it was the first production sedan ever fitted with a V10.

As prices come down today, the E60 M5 represents incredible bang-for-buck performance. Rare for an E60 M5, this example is painted in BMW’s iconic Silverstone colour and features a black leather interior. While it presents largely stock on the outside, under the bonnet this M5 specifies an Eventuri carbon-fibre air intake and Bilstein PS6 struts. Inside the cabin it features an AVIN head unit, AZA custom flat-bottom steering wheel, and a Blackvue DR650S dash cam. It rides on a set of original 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tyres.

Manufactured by BMW M in Munich and delivered new through Bowker BMW in the United Kingdom, this M5 shows a well-documented history. It is now a two-owner car after being imported to Australia in 2015. The seller assures oil changes have taken place every 5000km and various preventative maintenance has occurred. It has had idle and throttle actuators replaced, the bottom end fixed with BE bearing shells and ARP bolts installed, HP vanos line replaced, engine mounts replaced, new clutch in 2022, and brake rotors replaced in 2023. On the outside its condition shows in good order throughout.

The Silverstone paintwork appears in resplendent in the sunlight and no obvious signs of paint imperfection are seen. The two front headlights show some haze and light stone chips are seen on the bonnet. Scrape damage is seen underside the front bumper. Light weathering is noted around the black window trims. Most wheels appear in good condition without damage, though the rear right shows subtle kerb rash.

Inside the cabin this M5 shows in fair order. There is no damage or major wear seen on the black leather upholstery, while the carpeting appears in good condition. There are fine points of scuffing and chipping noted around the start button, window switchgear, and centre console. This car will come with the original airbox, steering wheel, and head unit, plus all accompanying documentation.
