This 2006 Mercedes-Benz (R171) SLK 55 AMG is a low-kilometre example of the compact V8-powered roadster, finished in silver with a black leather interior and showing 62,456 km on its odometer. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.4-litre M113 V8 engine paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission, driving the rear wheels.

The SLK 55 AMG was the flagship of the R171 SLK range, offering serious performance in a compact two-seater package. Unlike other SLK variants, it was fitted with AMG’s hand-built 5.4-litre V8 engine producing 265kW and 510Nm, giving it the distinction of being the smallest car at the time to house a naturally aspirated V8. Combined with rear-wheel drive, a balanced chassis, and a folding metal hardtop, it provided both thrilling open-top performance and grand touring comfort.

This example has had two owners from new. It was purchased by the current owner approximately 18 months ago, having previously spent most of its life in South Australia. The car showed 58,000 km at the time of purchase and now reads 62,456 km. It was serviced upon acquisition and again in June 2025, with full records confirming its service history.

Mechanically, the SLK 55 AMG drives beautifully and is reported to be in excellent running condition. The only noted issue is an ESP/tyre pressure warning light, which appeared after a tyre deflated several months ago. According to the servicing mechanic, the issue is due to a faulty sensor — a known and common quirk of this model — and does not affect performance or drivability. The 5.4-litre V8 starts easily, pulls strongly, and delivers the trademark AMG soundtrack.

The exterior presents in very good condition overall, with the paintwork and body showing minimal wear for its age. There is some light scraping underneath the front bumper consistent with the car’s low ride height and minor surface scratches that can be polished out. The body panels are straight, and all exterior trim and lights present well.

Inside, the cabin remains in equally good condition. The black leather upholstery, dashboard, and trim show only light age-related wear. The centre console lid is slightly loose on its hinges and there are a few small indented marks on the driver’s door, both described as minor imperfections. All electronics, roof operation, and sound system are functioning correctly.

The car remains completely original with no aftermarket modifications or known accident history. It will be supplied with a full service history, owner’s manuals, two keys, and a spare tyre with the factory tool kit, all of which appear to be in excellent condition.
