This 2006 BMW (E86) Z4M Coupe is a three-owner, Australian-delivered car that is used sparingly and is stored as part of a larger car collection. Under the bonnet lies a naturally-aspirated 3.2-litre straight-six-cylinder ‘S54’ engine that produces 252kW and 365Nm. These outputs are routed to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer currently shows 91,815kms. The BMW Z4M is the unsung hero of BMW’s mid-noughties model line-up, with all the best bits of the legendary E46 M3 repackaged into a focused, two-seat coupe body style. It shares the iconic S54 inline-six engine that’s earned countless accolades with automotive media and enthusiasts alike, while the coupe body style is renowned for its agility and directness on mountain roads.

Much of the E46 M3’s running gear and equipment is repurposed in the Z4M. The double-bubble hard-top roof makes for greater rigidity than the soft-top Z4M, while a lower centre of gravity ensures it’s dynamically sharper than the M3. The E86-generation BMW Z4M featured numerous improvements over the preceding generation including a wider front track, revised rear suspension, and a retuned steering system. Today, the Z4M is as sharp a driver’s car as it was when it was new. This Z4M’s clean specification features black paintwork for the exterior and a beige leather-upholstered cabin. Carbon-fibre-style soft-touch inlays feature as contrast inlays on the dashboard, central tunnel, and door panels.

There appears to be no aftermarket modifications made to the car – it presents in original condition. It rides on a set of 18-inch M alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres. Manufactured in Germany in 2006 and complied locally in September 2007, this car was delivered through Brisbane BMW in that same month. Initial servicing was performed by official BMW outlets, though the car has passed through independent specialists in the years since. It is a three-owner car; the current owner purchased the car in 2021. It has been used sparingly and sits as part of a wider car collection.

Michael McMichael Motors has maintained the vehicle in the current owner’s care, including a recent service which addressed the front brake pads and discs. The exterior presentation of this Z4M is brilliant with respect to its age and mileage. The black paint presents in fabulous condition with no obvious swirl marks or scratches. Light reflections display on body panels with high definition. The seller indicates a dent above the petrol cap, plus minor stone chips on the front end. Stone chips have been professionally touched-up.

Some marks of kerb rash are present on the wheels. Inside, this Z4M displays in similarly clean condition. There are minimal marks of wear and tear noted on the seats, which continue without major sagging or deformation. The dash, door panels, and centre console all present in fantastic order without obvious wear. Minor scuffing and scratches are noted around the driver’s window controls and gear stick. All accompanying documentation and manuals will be supplied with this car, in addition to three spare keys and all original tools.
