This 2006 BMW (E60) M5 is an Australian-delivered, three-owner car with a well-documented history of mechanical maintenance. Under the bonnet sits a high-revving, naturally-aspirated 5.0-litre V10 engine which develops 373kW and 520Nm. This power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed semi-automatic gearbox. The odometer currently shows 106,826km. The BMW E60 M5 was the first and last time BMW stuffed a large V10 engine under the bonnet of one of its sedans, but it stands as a high watermark for the M sub-brand. The idea behind the S85 V10 engine was originally rooted in BMW’s Formula 1 efforts, but the big engine’s application to a road car was a stroke of genius. It meant the M5 could run from zero to 100km/h in 4.

7 seconds, and up to a de-limited top speed of 330km/h. As is norm for the BMW M5, although it was a purpose-designed performance car, the E60 M5 was lauded for its luxurious and feature-laden interior. Its controversial Bangle-era styling has now come full circle and is appreciated for its bold design. The E60 M5 has now reached the bottom of its depreciation curve and maintained examples represent a fantastic performance car purchase. Painted in Silver Grey Metallic and upholstered with black leather inside the interior, this E60 M5’s colour combination will find wide appeal. There are no listed modifications and the seller reports the car is fully original. It is a pre-facelift car.

The car rides on a set of original 19-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in Kumho Ecsta tyres. Manufactured by BMW in Munich, Germany and first registered in September 2006, this E60 M5 comes with extensive documentation supporting its history. The seller took delivery three years ago and indicates the vehicle has had three owners overall. The car has had its actuators and sensors replaced (with regulators) with genuine BMW items, and the differential was replaced in 2023. Maintenance has been completed by a series of official and independent workshops. The most recent service was completed in April 2024 by Bee-Ems in Hornsby, NSW. The seller notes everything functions as intended.

This car’s exterior presentation has been well-maintained. The Silver Grey Metallic paintwork shows in good order without obvious damage or scratching, while nice reflections are seen in the light. Some stone chips and scratches are seen around the front end, as well as a scuff on the lower left-hand portion of the bumper. Significant scrape damage is noted underneath the front bumper. Some kerb rash is noted around the wheels and the some centre caps are scratched. Interior condition is shown in fair order. The black upholstery of the seats is unmarked and minimal creasing is seen in the leather.

However, there is significant wear and tear damage identified around touch points such as the window controls, start button, and steering wheel spokes. The carpets and headlining are in good condition without stains or scuffs. All accompanying booklets, receipts, and manuals will be suppled. The registration expires in September 2024. As per Trading Garage’s Terms and Conditions, although Trading Garage have completed the following checks, bidders must satisfy themselves to the accuracy of the description and do any research, they feel necessary before bidding. All listings are sold in Australian dollars. This vehicle is currently registered in NSW until 29/9/24.

There are no security interests registered on the PPSR against the serial number and it is not recorded as written off or stolen.
