This 2005 BMW (E60) M5 is a two-owner car presenting in stunning Sepang Bronze, and shows a thorough service history since new. It is powered by a naturally-aspirated 5.0-litre V10 engine which outputs 373kW and 520Nm through the rear wheels. The transmission in this car is a seven-speed semi-automatic gearbox. The odometer on this car currently displays 99,700km. Arriving in Australia in 2005, the E60-generation BMW M5 ushered in a new era for BMW M. It marked the first time a V10 engine had been used inside a production sedan, which coincidentally brought stratospheric new highs for performance. This meant the 5.

0-litre V10 engine propelled the M5 from zero to 100km/h in 4.7 seconds, and on to a 322km/h top speed with the limiter removed. At launch, the M5’s V10 engine and semi-automatic gearbox mirrored the configuration used in Formula 1 at the time. Much fuss was made of this link; the engine was derived from BMW’s involvement with the Sauber F1 team. Its Bangle-era styling was also controversial during its introduction. However, the E60 M5 is appreciated today for its unique exhaust note and incredible performance relative to the price paid on the used market. This example is painted in the E60 M5 hero colour, Sepang Bronze metallic, and features a black leather-upholstered cabin.

It is unmodified from its original condition. It runs silver trim panels inside its cabin as a highlight. The car rides on a set of 19-inch BMW M alloy wheels wrapped in Continental Max Contact 6 tyres. Manufactured new in Munich, Germany and complied in Australia September 2005, this M5 stocks a continued service history since new. It was delivered through Bib Stillwell BMW in South Yarra, VIC. It is now a two-owner car after the current owner purchased the vehicle from its original owner more than a decade ago. In the current owner’s care the car has been seen to by Bib Stillwell and Malvern Auto Tech.

The battery was recently replaced, as were spark plugs. The last full service was completed last year. The owner notes the car is in working order and no faults are present. The exterior presentation of this E60 M5 is shown to a good standard overall. The Sepang Bronze paintwork glints nicely in the sunlight with no endemic swirl marks. There is said to be no accident history with the car. Its front end exhibits significant stone chipping over the bumper and bonnet, while scrape damage is seen underside the front splitter.

Minor discolouration is noted on M5 badging. All four wheels show small points of kerb rash. Inside the cabin this M5 presents without major issues and no major wear or tear is seen. Minimal creasing and leather scuffing is seen on the front seats which continue to hold a good shape. There are scratches around the driver’s side window controls. Notably, the under-thigh toggle switch on the driver’s side is missing. The headlining and carpeting appears without obvious scuff marks.
