This 2002 Porsche (996) 911 Carrera 4S is a three-owner, fastidiously-presented car which presents with original documentation and regular servicing. Under its rear decklid sits a naturally-aspirated 3.6-litre flat-six-cylinder engine which develops 235kW and 370Nm. This car specifies a five-speed sports automatic transmission. The odometer currently displays 90,623km. The 996 Porsche 911 is often derided as the forgotten generation and has long flown under the radar among enthusiast circles. However, it’s now becoming a desirable model and values are beginning to appreciate – especially for desirable variants such as the Carrera 4S. The 996 was revealed in 1998 with watercooled power, which initially drew criticism, but it wasn’t long until Porsche issued a facelift in 2002 which brought a larger 3.

6-litre engine and a new variant. Employing the same iconic flat-six engine, the Carrera 4S features all-wheel-drive and a wide-body stance shared with the 996 Turbo. It also gets a more aggressive front fascia, and utilises the brakes and suspension from the 996 Turbo flagship. It’s now appreciated as a true driver’s car and the unique silhouette is popular among Porsche fanatics. Finished in the period-perfect Arctic Grey colourway, this 996 also specifies a black leather-clad cabin. From factory, it was optioned with a sunroof and soft leather upholstery. There are no obvious aftermarket modifications made to this car.

The owner has recently covered the paint in a ceramic coating and applied leather protection. It rides on a set of 18-inch alloy wheels which come wrapped in Pirelli Rosso tyres. This 996 911 was manufactured in Zuffenhausen, Germany and delivered new to Australia. The current owner believes it to be a three-owner car overall and has owned the vehicle for the last 13 years. It is said to be in good mechanical condition with no signs of failure from the IMS bearing – a typical issue on 996 911s. The car is rarely used and is regularly garaged. The last service was completed by Porsche Centre Melbourne in May 2024.

All previous servicing has been performed at Porsche Centre Melbourne since the owner purchased the vehicle 13 years ago. The exterior presentation of this 911 is great for its age. The Arctic Silver paintwork appears without any major markings or scratches and reflects nicely in the light. To the best of the seller’s knowledge, the car has not been in any accidents and has not been resprayed. Very minor scratches appear on the passenger-side front guard and around the rear-left of the rear window glass. The wheels present in good condition overall, though some curb rash is seen on the rear left rim. Inside the cabin this 911 also presents in good order.

The black leather upholstery shows nicely throughout, with only minor creasing and stress marks. The black carpeting and floor mats contain no obvious stains or scuffs. Door trims and dash presentation appears to be in fine condition, while the headlining also shows no sag or damage. The interior has been covered with leather protection and has the balance of a five-year warranty. All accompanying documentation will be supplied with this car. As per Trading Garage Terms and Conditions, although Trading Garage has completed the following checks bidders must satisfy themselves to the accuracy of the description and do any research they feel necessary before bidding.
