This 2002 BMW (E46) M3 Coupe is a rare factory manual example with comprehensive maintenance history and desirable upgrades, including a reinforced subframe and replaced rod bearings. Powered by the legendary 3.2-litre naturally aspirated S54 inline-six, it delivers 252kW to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer currently shows 108,291 miles. (174,277 Km). The E46 M3 is one of BMW’s most celebrated M cars, praised for its sublime chassis balance, high-revving engine, and timeless design.

Built between 2000 and 2006, the E46 generation bridged the analog and modern eras of performance motoring. The heart of the car is the S54 straight-six, revving beyond 8,000rpm and paired perfectly to a tactile six-speed manual gearbox — a combination increasingly rare in today’s market. This M3 was originally delivered to the UK and imported to Australia by its fifth owner as a personal import in 2019. It has had six owners in total, with the current custodian acquiring the car in July 2024. It is supported by an extensive folder of service records and receipts, including a full BMW dealer and specialist service history.

The car is described as being in excellent mechanical condition with no known faults. Key preventative maintenance has been completed: Rod bearings replaced at 105,000 miles, subframe reinforcement completed at 83,000 miles, VANOS tested and cleared, recent service carried out at BM Performance (Williamstown) at 107,340 miles. Additional recent maintenance includes new ignition coils and plugs, A/C compressor, alternator, engine mounts, accessory belts, water pump and thermostat, new rear Michelin PS4 tyres, rear brake discs and pads, differential pinion seal, and polyurethane diff bushes. This M3 presents well in Carbon Black over black leather, and the bodywork was recently paint corrected and ceramic coated (Feb 2025). Minor age-related imperfections include stone chips, a paint bubble on the driver’s side rear alloy wheel, and small corrosion spots on the driver's front guard and base of the mirror.

The vehicle has no known accident damage, and paint-less dent removal has recently been completed. Interior condition is solid, with all electrics and gauges operating as expected. Included with the car is a Dynavin head unit (not yet installed), and the original factory springs, spare rear window seals, and a full set of keys. The factory BMW 18-inch wheels remain fitted, and the car is equipped with H&R lowering springs. This E46 M3 will be supplied with its full set of books, keys, and comprehensive documentation.

It represents a well-maintained, engaging example of one of BMW’s finest modern classics. As per Trading Garage Terms and Conditions, although Trading Garage has completed the following checks, bidders must satisfy themselves to the accuracy of the description and do any research they feel necessary before bidding. This vehicle is registered in Victoria until 14/9/25. There are no security interests registered on the PPSR against the serial number and it is not recorded as written off or stolen.
