This 1997 Chevrolet Corvette (C5) is a first-year example featuring an Arctic White and red colour combination and a removable roof panel. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.7 litre LS1 V8, paired with a four-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. The odometer currently shows 62,254 km* indicated.

The fifth-generation Corvette arrived for the 1997 model year with an extensively redesigned chassis and the new aluminium LS1 V8. A rear-mounted transmission connected to the engine by a torque tube improved weight distribution, while hydroformed chassis rails increased structural rigidity. The C5 retained independent suspension and retractable headlights, combining these familiar Corvette features with a more spacious cabin and a liftback luggage compartment.

Finished in Arctic White with red leather seats and contrasting black dashboard and door trim, this example retains its left-hand-drive layout. The photographed factory build sheet records Arctic White paint under code 10U, an LS1 engine, M30 four-speed automatic transmission, GU2 2.73:1 rear axle ratio and CC3 transparent roof panel. It also lists F45 adjustable damping, sports seats, a memory package, electronic climate control and a multi-disc CD player. These entries establish its recorded factory specification rather than the originality of every component currently fitted. The seller reports fitting a replacement cat-back exhaust and believes the polished five-spoke wheels are from a 2000-model Corvette.

The seller has owned the Corvette for approximately three years and believes it has had four owners in total, comprising two in the United States and two in Australia. The factory certification label records manufacture in December 1996 for the 1997 model year. A photographed Victorian modification plate records import and seatbelt work. The seller advises that the most recent maintenance was an oil change performed by a friend approximately 1,500 km ago, with no major mechanical work undertaken during their ownership.

The seller describes the paintwork as being in excellent condition apart from a couple of minor chips. The interior is similarly described, with age-related wear to the seats and slight marks on the centre of the steering wheel. An air vent beside the steering wheel has detached and requires refitting, and a trim cover behind the right-hand door armrest is missing. The seller also reports a recurring “pull key, wait 10 seconds” message, advising that the engine starts after the key is removed and reinserted. The cause of this fault has not been established in the supplied information.

Included with the sale are original books and manuals, two keys and one remote fob, all reported by the seller to be working.
