This 1995 Nissan Skyline (R33) GT-R is a factory KN6 Dark Grey Pearl example powered by the 2.6-litre twin-turbocharged RB26DETT inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive. The car has travelled 72,925 km and is accompanied by documentation from its time in Japan through to its current ownership in Australia.
The R33 GT-R was an evolution of the iconic R32 GT-R, refining Nissan’s “Godzilla” formula with improved chassis balance, modernised interior, and the addition of ATTESA E-TS all-wheel drive and Super-HICAS rear-wheel steering. Combining JDM motorsport pedigree with true long-distance capability, the R33 has gained strong collectability, particularly for unmodified examples in rare factory colours.
This example was sold at USS Tokyo auction on 17 December 2017 as a Grade 3.5 car, and subsequently imported to Melbourne on 2 February 2018, with import and auction photos included in the documentation. It has had very limited use in Australia, having travelled just 15,000 km in the past eight years, and has been with its current owner since January 2021.
The seller notes the car has been serviced annually during their 4.5 years of ownership, and has travelled fewer than 10,000 km in that time. Prior to import, the last recorded service in Japan was at 57,768 km. The most recent full service was completed in February 2024, with fewer than 50 km travelled since. The car has been used only for occasional weekend driving and has been garage-kept throughout.
Mechanically, the car remains in excellent condition, with no known issues, though the tyres will require replacement in the near future due to age. The engine and drivetrain are stock, retaining the original RB26DETT, factory airbox, and exhaust system.
Cosmetically, the car presents well for its age and originality. Finished in KN6 Dark Grey Pearl, a rare Series 1 colour with just 670 cars produced, the paint shows well with minor stone chips at the front of the bonnet and a few very light scratches consistent with age, all of which are difficult to notice. The front lower lip has some scuffing underneath, typical from low clearance use over ramps and driveways. The paint colour shifts between purple, grey, and black depending on the lighting, adding to the visual appeal. The car is still wearing its original paintwork.
Inside, the cabin is fully original, including the factory floor mats and a set of Nismo cluster gauges. The only noted imperfection is a minor burn mark on the driver’s door card. The sale includes two keys.
In terms of modifications, the car is near stock aside from a set of Advan Racing RG1 wheels and a set of coilover suspension. The seller notes the car was intended as a collector’s item, so it has been kept true to factory specification apart from these reversible additions.
With detailed history from Japan, low mileage, a rare factory colour, and carefully preserved condition, this R33 GT-R presents a strong opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts seeking a clean and lightly used example of one of Japan’s most respected performance cars.
