This 1990 Porsche 911 (964) Carrera 4 is a highly sought after right-hand-drive manual example which could be enjoyed right away or be the perfect base for a bespoke restomod build. Under the rear decklid sits a naturally-aspirated 3.6-litre flat-six-cylinder engine which outputs 184kW and 310Nm. This is a five-speed manual example which sends power to the rear wheels. The odometer of this car currently displays 111,108km. The 964-generation Porsche 911 was introduced in the late 1980s and issued a substantive series of changes, including the introduction of the Tiptronic transmission and the option of all-wheel-drive for the first time. It was 85 per cent new compared to its Carrera 3.

2 predecessor. Early cars (such as this listing) were Carrera 4 all-wheel-drive variants, until Porsche began offering Carrera 2s in 1990. Porsche offered the 964 in three body styles: a targa-top, cabriolet, and a coupe. The coupe has become the most desirable body in today’s age. It’s becoming increasingly common to use the 964 as the basis for a Singer-reimagined 911, but unmodified and well-presented 964s are among the most desirable classic Porsche generations all on their own. Painted on the outside in a slate blue and upholstered with black leather, this 964’s tidy colour combination is sure to find wide appeal with enthusiasts.

There are no known aftermarket modifications made to this car’s condition, which retains its as-delivered colour combination from new. However, it does specify a Kenwood head unit in place of the original radio. The car rides on a set of 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tyres. Manufactured by Porsche in Zuffenhausen, Germany and delivered new to South Africa, this right-hand-drive 964 retains its original books and some recent maintenance receipts. It is now with its second Australian owner. Maintenance has been completed between various official Porsche dealerships and specialist independents.

Recent servicing was undertaken by Cavaco Motors in NSW and a new clutch was fitted earlier in 2023. The vehicle is booked in for a VASS certificate on the 14th of September and will be included as part of the sale. The owner states the vehicle was restored some time ago and it currently has no known faults. Exterior condition is presented to a high standard overall. The blue paintwork displays no obvious markings or scratches, while true reflections are seen in sunlight. Some minor weathering is noticed on door handles.

All four wheels show in good condition with no obvious kerb rash. Inside the cabin this 964 has been well preserved since new. The black leather upholstery shows no stains or scuffs, and no major creasing is seen in the bolsters. Subtle nicks are identified in the door card trims, though this is commensurate with use. Carpeting is pilling in some areas. The dashboard and centre console displays in good overall condition, while instrumentation functions as normal.

This car will be sold with its original books and all accompanying receipts. As per Trading Garage’s Terms and Conditions, although Trading Garage have completed the following checks, bidders must satisfy themselves to the accuracy of the description and do any research, they feel necessary before bidding. All listings are sold in Australian dollars. This vehicle is currently registered in Victoria under a club registration permit. There are no security interests registered on the PPSR against the serial number and it is not recorded as written off or stolen.
