This 1990 Mercedes-Benz 300CE-24V (C124) is an Australian-delivered car which has benefitted from a respray in the past. It is currently fitted with some tidy modifications. Under the bonnet sits a naturally-aspirated 3.0-litre inline-six-cylinder engine which outputs 162kW/265Nm to the rear wheels. It’s fitted with a five-speed automatic transmission. This example currently displays 176,933km on its odometer. Mercedes-Benz introduced the W124 in the mid-1980s to bridge the gap between its S-Class flagship and the entry-level W201. The Bruno Sacco design has since become iconic and is arguably best interpreted in coupe format – as displayed on this 300CE-24V.

The model is a sports tourer at heart with enough inline-six-cylinder power to humble sports cars in its day. It is also appreciated for the luxurious experience inside the cabin, thanks to a pair of bolstered sports seats and a prodigious use of premium materials. Many of the features that made their debut on the W124 were world-firsts and have since become Mercedes-Benz staples. These include the overengineered single windscreen wiper and remote-folding rear headrests. Sportline specification cars are most desirable, though the entire platform is ripe for personalisation. Painted in light blue on the outside and complete with a matching blue interior, it’s hard to fault this car’s clean colour combination. The exterior “Sacco planks” are painted a darker shade of blue, while woodgrain trim can be seen inside the cabin.

This car has been lowered on Bilstein shocks and Eibach springs – a popular combination for the model. It rides on a set of genuine 17-inch AMG Aero alloy wheels which come wrapped in Pirelli tyres. This car was built in Germany and delivered new to Australia through G Brothers Mercedes-Benz in late 1990. It is now a three-owner car (according to the owner), having been with the current owner since 2020. The vehicle has had a respray in the past. Servicing has been completed at a variety of Mercedes-Benz dealerships and independents; the most recent maintenance was performed by Bosch Malvern and Luke Hamilton at Hamilton's Independent Mercedes. Items tended to recently include rebuilt suspension, refurbished drive axles, transmission service, A/C regassed, brake discs and pads replaced, and coolant system flushed and replaced.

The owner notes that the cruise control is not working. Exterior condition is described as very good with respect to the car’s age and odometer. Some age-related marks and scratches can be seen on some of the lower Sacco planks, though the body paint still shines nicely in the light. No scuffing or scratches are seen on the plastic bumpers. Kerb rash can be seen on the AMG wheels. Inside, the car presents tidily and no obvious marks of wear and tear are seen. The seats show no major points of stress or creasing, while no tears or rips are identified on the fabric.

The centre console woodgrain trim has been replaced with a different shade to the rest of the interior trim. This car has a Pioneer head unit in place of the original radio. Its dashboard shows no major cracks and no obvious stains are seen in the carpet or floor mats. All accompanying documentation and receipts will be supplied. As per Trading Garage Terms and Conditions, although Trading Garage has completed the following checks bidders must satisfy themselves to the accuracy of the description and do any research they feel necessary before bidding. All listings are sold in Australian dollars. This vehicle is registered in Victoria under a club permit.

There are no security interests registered on the PPSR against the serial number and it is not recorded as written off or stolen.
