This 1990 Holden HSV Clubsport VN is finished in silver over a cloth interior and shows 172,000 kilometres indicated. Powered by the 5.0 litre V8 paired with an automatic transmission, the VN Clubsport marked the beginning of HSV’s standalone identity and remains one of the most historically significant Australian performance sedans of the modern era.
Released in June 1990, the VN Clubsport was HSV’s first production model following its separation from HDT, setting the tone for everything that followed. Early cars were delivered exclusively in silver, and this example is particularly notable as one of the earliest produced. Although the dashboard plaque reads number 116, HSV numbering commenced at 100, making this car number 16 overall. This places it within the first 60 vehicles released, a detail that can be verified by the accompanying HSV certificate and the engine bay plaque.
The car has had three owners in total, with the current owner being the third and having owned it for approximately one year. It was originally sold new in Tamworth and is described as having spent its life as a country car.
Service history is limited, with no original service books present. The vehicle was serviced by the current owner approximately four months ago and has travelled around 300 kilometres since. Within the past two years, significant work has been carried out, including replacement of the air conditioning system and the cooling system, with a new radiator and water pump fitted.
Mechanically, the car is reported to be in excellent condition, with no faults, warning lights or issues noted. The exterior presents in excellent condition. The seller notes the car has received a professional closed-door respray at some point in its life and presents very strongly, with no notable stone chips, scratches or dents. Exterior trim and panels are described as being in excellent order.
Inside, the cloth interior presents extremely well, with no noticeable wear to the seats, carpets or controls. All interior electronics and systems are reported to function correctly. Modifications are minimal. An upgraded head unit has been fitted, along with an aftermarket Lukey exhaust system, offering a deeper exhaust note than standard. No other modifications are noted. There is no known accident history.
The vehicle is supplied with two sets of keys, along with the spare wheel and factory tool kit.
As per Trading Garage Terms and Conditions, although Trading Garage has completed the following checks, bidders must satisfy themselves to the accuracy of the description and do any research they feel necessary before bidding. All listings are sold in Australian dollars. A PPSR search has been conducted and confirms the vehicle has not been recorded as written off or stolen and no security interests are recorded. The vehicle is currently unregistered.
