This 1983 Ferrari 308 GTS QV is a clean-presented car which boasts a recent paint refresh and interior overhaul, while maintaining a clear mechanical condition. A mid-mounted 2.9-litre naturally-aspirated V8 engine outputs 177kW and 260Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The odometer currently states this vehicle has travelled 95,210 miles. Through the 1980s Ferrari’s market share was being challenged by rivals such as Porsche and Lamborghini, which were beginning to find their feet as bonafide sports car manufacturers.

The Ferrari 308 is a two-seat Italian sprots car which was manufactured from 1975 for the following decade, and it was Enzo Ferrari’s vision for this car to bring Maranello back into the limelight. Featuring Pininfarina styling and offered in a coupe (GTB) and targa-top body style (GTS), the 308 was initially offered with carburettors before fuel injection was added a few years into the model’s lifecycle. Later Quattrovalvole examples are notable for their four valves per cylinder and are desirable due to their extra power over the regular fuel-injected cars. The GTS features a removable roof panel which can be stowed behind the seats when not in use. In the modern era the Ferrari 308 has earned itself a reputation for being a tidy classic Ferrari and values has levelled out worldwide.

Painted in the classic Rosso Corsa red on the outside and featuring a black leather interior, this car’s specification is quintessential Ferrari. There have been no obvious aftermarket modifications made to the car, though it does specify an Alpine head unit in place of the original radio and Hella fog lamp covers. It features a Ferrari-branded Momo three-spoke steering wheel. The car rides on a set of 14-inch Ferrari Campagnolo wheels which are wrapped in Michelin TRX tyres. Recent maintenance has seen the car taken care of by the current owner – it has just had some electrical work completed along with a service.

The seller states there is no current mechanical concerns. As of last year it has received a paint refresh, and the interior has received an overhaul. The vehicle was in the care of Ferrari Melbourne from 2014 to 2018 in which time the vehicle had work done to the suspension, steering, audio system, transmission and other electrical repairs along with annual services. Exterior condition of this 308 GTS is impressive for a car of its age and mileage. Minimal marks of wear and tear are seen on the outside of the car and its Rosso Corsa paintwork displays in great order with a nice sheen.

Blacked-out exterior components such as the side mirrors, grille, and roof panels have not discoloured. Subtle kerb rash can be seen on some wheels, while the Michelin TRX sidewalls appear to be cracking. The interior presentation of this 308 has been kept in good order. The black leather upholstery shows without major creasing or scuffing and carpeting remains in good undamaged condition. This car’s removable roof appears in fine condition.
