This 1980 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible (C3) is a coupé converted to open-top configuration that has remained with its importing owner for approximately six to seven years. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.7 litre V8 with side-exit exhausts, paired with an automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. The odometer currently shows 11,139 miles* TMU.

Introduced for 1968, the third-generation Corvette combined a fibreglass body with independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. The design evolved throughout its production run, with the 1980 model receiving revised front and rear styling incorporating integrated spoilers. Chevrolet’s factory C3 convertible production ended after 1975, making this example’s convertible body a subsequent modification.

The exterior is finished in black with a black folding soft top, complemented by black seats, door trims and carpets. The car retains left-hand drive and features alloy wheels, pop-up headlights and electric windows. Side-exit exhausts run beneath the doors, while the owner reports fitting new Wilwood brakes and tyres. Both the convertible conversion and side pipes were already present when the car was purchased.

The owner advises that he imported the Corvette from the United States and has been its sole Australian owner, with earlier ownership history unknown. A Queensland modification plate dated 20 December 2018 is fitted. During the current ownership, servicing has been carried out by the owner, who reports that the car is driven approximately twice a year. The timing and details of the convertible conversion have not been established.
