This 1980 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV 2000 (116 Series) is an example that the seller advises has remained in their collection for approximately 11 years and is accompanied by its original service books. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0 litre twin-cam inline four, paired with a five-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. The odometer currently shows 28,334 km* TMU.

Introduced in 1974, the Alfetta GT combined Giorgetto Giugiaro’s fastback coupé design with the Alfetta saloon’s transaxle layout. Mounting the clutch and gearbox at the rear helped distribute weight between the axles, while De Dion rear suspension and inboard rear disc brakes distinguished its engineering. The 2.0 litre GTV joined the range in 1976, developing the original four-cylinder coupé concept with increased engine capacity.

Finished in red, this example features grey cloth seat inserts with dark bolsters, a black dashboard and tan carpeting. Exterior details include steel bumpers, four round headlights and silver alloy wheels. The photographed tyre placard identifies model code 116.37 and records a factory wheel specification of 5½J x 14 with 185/70 HR14 tyres. A replacement three-spoke steering wheel is fitted, which the seller identifies as the car’s principal departure from its original specification.

The Australian compliance plate is stamped April 1980, and the accompanying guarantee booklet records delivery through Peter Manton Motors on 2 May 1980. The seller advises that the original service book records one previous owner and that servicing has been carried out by Cesario Motors. Since acquisition approximately 11 years ago, the Alfa has primarily been stored within their collection and used occasionally.

The seller describes the car as being in good condition for its age and estimates that approximately 80 per cent of its paintwork remains original. They also report that it remains in good mechanical condition. These assessments reflect the seller’s account of the car’s condition and originality.

Included with the sale are tools, the original service books and the accompanying instruction booklet.
