This 1977 Holden Torana (LX) is a matching numbers, genuine two-owner vehicle that was last restored eight years ago. Consistent servicing sees this car run in good condition. It is powered by a 4.2-litre V8 engine that sends 120kW (160hp) to the rear wheels. The transmission in this car is a three-speed “Trimatic” automatic transmission. The odometer on this car currently shows 117,034km. The Holden Torana is symbolic of Aussie larrikin behaviour. With brash, loud looks and bright-coloured paintjobs, the Holden Torana’s popularity was magnetic for younger buyer types.

Especially in an era where the Holden Monaro was sold to the more well-heeled and discerning customers. The Holden Torana was famous on the Australian touring car circuit. It dominated the competition at Mount Panorama and has since carved a reputation for being one of the most iconic locally-produced cars of all time. But, it wasn’t until the LX generation that the Torana really came into its own. With the A9X package, the Torana was a fearsome sports car and handled as well as it put power down to the ground. Nowadays, Holden Toranas are among the most desirable Australian classic cars, with enthusiasts paying over the odds for complete, original-looking examples. Painted in its original shade of Aquarius on the outside and upholstered with grey vinyl seats, this Torana’s colour combination is reflective of its era.

The interior is also highlighted by woodgrain veneer trims. This car’s distributor was replaced with an electronic distributor; there are no other modifications according to the seller. It rides on a set 15-inch wheels wrapped in Nankang tyres. Manufactured new in Australia during May 1977, this Torana is now a two-owner car according to the seller. It was last restored and resprayed eight years ago. All servicing has been performed by a qualified mechanic. Recent works include a transmission service, a reconditioned carburettor, and the rear wheel bearings were replaced on re-axles.

The exterior presentation of this Torana is fantastic. The Aquarius paintjob still presents in remarkable condition following its respray, while the exterior trims and chrome are similarly well maintained. Light patina can be seen on the badgework. Some areas of stone chipping are noted on the front end. All four wheels display in great condition with no obvious damage. Inside, this Torana’s cabin presents in great order. The vinyl upholstery shows no undue marks of wear and tear, and the seats retain a good, original shape.

The steering wheel and gear selector appear in good condition. No marks of scuffing or staining can be seen on the carpeting and headlining. Likewise, the woodgrain veneers display are unmarked. The car’s original radio has been replaced with an aftermarket Clarion head unit and Smiths gauges are also seen inside the cabin. This car will be sold with all accompanying documentation and service invoices. As per Trading Garage Terms and Conditions, although Trading Garage has completed the following checks, bidders must satisfy themselves to the accuracy of the description and do any research they feel necessary before bidding.
