This 1972 Ford XA Falcon GT Replica is a comprehensively rebuilt Australian muscle coupe finished in Wild Violet with a retrimmed white interior, combining iconic Falcon GT styling with a highly modified driveline and modern performance upgrades. Power comes from a Dart block based 440ci Windsor V8 producing a claimed 700hp, paired with a Tremec TKO600 five speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels through a Detroit Truetrac equipped 9 inch differential. The odometer currently displays 76,800 miles TMU.
Released in 1972, the XA Falcon represented a major turning point for Ford Australia, becoming the first locally designed Falcon range and introducing the now legendary XA GT Hardtop. With aggressive styling, broad shouldered proportions and Bathurst success, the XA quickly cemented itself as one of the defining Australian muscle cars of the era. GT replicas such as this example continue to attract strong enthusiast interest by combining the visual impact of the original homologation inspired coupes with significantly enhanced modern performance.
Finished in Wild Violet with GT style striping and a white retrimmed interior, this example presents as a highly detailed street machine with an extensive list of upgrades. Interior appointments include a windback sunroof, sports steering wheel, centre console, upgraded instrumentation and matching white upholstery throughout. Riding on 18 inch Boyd Coddington wheels, the Falcon also benefits from upgraded suspension, power steering, and Wilwood four wheel disc brakes.
According to previous auction material and the current seller, power comes from a Dart block based 440ci Windsor V8 fitted with FiTech fuel injection and producing a claimed 700hp. The drivetrain package includes a Tremec TKO600 five speed manual gearbox and Detroit Truetrac 9 inch rear differential with 4.11 gearing. The seller advises the vehicle remains unchanged since being acquired through Classics For A Cause following its appearance at Seven82 Motors in June 2025, where the vehicle was subsequently featured by Classics For A Cause with a stated value of $180,000.
The supplied images show the vehicle presenting to a high standard throughout, with the Wild Violet paintwork and white interior combination creating a striking period inspired appearance. Engine bay presentation reflects the extensive nature of the build, while the cabin appears clean and well finished throughout.
