This 1971 Alfa Romeo 1750 GT Veloce (105 Series) is an Australian-delivered example with matching-numbers driveline components and a documented restoration completed in the last decade. Power comes from a naturally aspirated 1.8-litre twin-cam four-cylinder paired with a five-speed manual transmission, finished in Rossa over a Cuoio interior. The odometer currently indicates 93,160 miles (TMU).
Few models embody Alfa Romeo’s golden era like the 105 Series coupe. Its Bertone styling, short wheelbase and free-revving engines made it one of the most admired sporting coupes of the 1960s and 70s. The introduction of the 1750 GTV in 1967 brought a larger-capacity engine, four-wheel disc brakes, independent suspension refinements, and improved cabin appointments. On road and track it proved formidable, famously mixing it with much larger cars in the Australian Touring Car Championship. Today, the 1750 GTV is celebrated as a quintessential Alfa driving experience and one of the most collectible variants of the 105 Series.
This example was built in Italy in September 1970 and delivered new to Australia in March 1971 through Clemens Sporting Car Services in Victoria. Originally finished in Blu Olandese, it was later refinished in red during its South Australian restoration in 2016, which also included a drivetrain rebuild. Approximately five owners are recorded, with documentation showing time spent in Victoria, Adelaide and Brisbane. Continued maintenance has been carried out with marque specialists, and its most recent service in March 2024 included a brake overhaul and general maintenance.
The exterior presents well in Rossa, with glossy paintwork that still shines strongly, though light swirl marks, small chips and minor touch-ups are visible under close inspection. Chrome trim shows early signs of patina, and the 14-inch Alfa Romeo hub-capped wheels would benefit from a polish. They remain wrapped in BF Goodrich Advantage tyres fitted 12 months ago.
Inside, the Cuoio interior presents impressively. The upholstery has not sagged or faded, and the seats are free from creasing. The woodgrain trim remains in excellent order, the original radio is retained, and all instrumentation functions correctly. Carpeting is clean and well kept, consistent with the rest of the cabin.
This Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV will be supplied with its ownership and maintenance history, original books including the warranty certificate and radio handbook, two keys, a car cover, and spare wheel.
