This 1971 Alfa Romeo 1750 GT Veloce (105 Series) is an Australian-delivered car with matching-numbers driveline components and a restoration completed in the last decade. Power is derived from a naturally-aspirated 1.78-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 90kW and 186Nm. Outputs are sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The odometer on this car currently shows 93,037 miles. There are few more iconic Alfa Romeos than the 105 Series produced throughout the 1960s and 70s. The short wheelbase was perfect for sports-touring and its iconic styling is still referenced today in Alfa Romeo’s current line-up. It’s true that much of the 105 Series is predicated on practicality and family transport, but the introduction of the 1750 GT Veloce variant in 1967 was a huge turning point for the 105 Series as a sports car.

This specification introduced a bigger engine, improved dynamics through independent suspension, and greater all-round refinement. It was also fitted with disc brakes and better seats inside the cabin. Australians got their first taste of the 1750 GTV through its stint in the Australian Touring Car Championship, regularly carving up local legends like the Ford Falcon. Now, the 1750 GT Veloce is widely regarded as offering a quintessential Alfa Romeo driving experience and values have increased as a result. Sporting a classic Rossa-over-Cuoio (red-over-tan) colour combination, this example’s appearance is sure to turn heads. It started life painted in Blu Olandese but has since been repainted red. Chrome accents are seen on the exterior, while woodgrain trim is used inside the interior.

There are no obvious aftermarket modifications displayed on this car. It rides on a set of 14-inch Alfa Romeo hub caps wrapped in 12 month old BF Goodrich Advantage tyres. This Alfa was manufactured in Italy in September 1970 and delivered new to Australia through Clemens Sporting Car Services (VIC) in March 1971. There is a documented chain of ownership associated with this vehicle and the car has spent time in Victoria, Adelaide, and now Brisbane with approximately five owners in total. The car has enjoyed continued maintenance with marque specialists, though it was most recently restored (drivetrain rebuild, respray) in South Australia in 2016. Importantly, it is still a matching-numbers car. Its last service was in March 2024 where it received a brake overhaul and general maintenance.

This car’s restoration addressed the exterior presentation nine years ago, though there are subtle signs of wear and tear appearing now. However, it still presents strongly considering the car’s age. The red paintwork shines nicely in the sunlight, but minor swirl marks can be seen under certain light conditions. There are minor paint chips and touch-ups around panel edges. Early signs of patina are identified on chrome trims. All four wheels appear in fair order but could benefit from a polish. The interior presentation of this Alfa holds up impressively.

Notably, the Cuoio upholstery has not faded and sagged with age, while the seats show no creasing at all. There are no imperfections in the woodgrain panels and the original radio is found within the dashboard. All instrumentation functions as intended and the carpeting displays no nasty scuffs. A history of this vehicle’s ownership and maintenance will be provided in addition to owner’s manuals, two keys, a car cover, and a spare wheel. As per Trading Garage Terms and Conditions, although Trading Garage has completed the following checks bidders must satisfy themselves to the accuracy of the description and do any research they feel necessary before bidding. All listings are sold in Australian dollars. This vehicle is registered in QLD until 11/3/25.

There are no security interests registered on the PPSR against the serial number and it is not recorded as written off or stolen.
