This 1969 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible is a charming example of the classic open-top model, finished in white with a light tan interior and showing 52,569 miles on its odometer.

The Volkswagen Beetle is one of the most recognisable cars ever built, renowned for its simple engineering, timeless design, and broad appeal. The convertible variant added a touch of flair to the Beetle’s enduring practicality, making it one of the most desirable versions among collectors and enthusiasts.

This example was purchased by the current owner in January 2021 from a specialist dealer in Queensland. While it was advertised at the time as having undergone restoration, the extent of that work is unknown. The car presents in tidy overall condition and is believed to have been fitted with a later 1600cc dual-port engine (AE-series) paired with a manual gearbox.

Following purchase, the Beetle was taken to Ted Cahill Motors in Shepparton for mechanical attention, which included fitting a new clutch cable, installing a new wiring kit after a misfire was identified and completing a roadworthy inspection. Since then, it has required no further mechanical work and has been driven sparingly. For much of the current ownership, the car has been displayed in a museum.

The exterior presents neatly, with bright white paintwork and chrome that appears very well, complementing the car’s classic lines. The convertible roof is in good condition, fitting well and showing no obvious wear or damage. Inside, the light tan interior is believed to have been retrimmed and remains in attractive condition, with only minor age-related wear noted. The only small fault mentioned is a missing turning knob on the rear window handle on the driver’s side, though the handle remains functional.

The car retains its original character and has not been modified.

This Beetle will be supplied with its factory tool kit, jack and spare wheel.
