This 1969 Ford Mustang Restomod is a comprehensively restored coupe presented with under 3,000 miles on its rebuilt running gear and a detailed specification covering its extensive mechanical and cosmetic upgrades. It is powered by a 6.4 litre supercharged 393ci Windsor V8, with the supplied dynamometer sheet recording a maximum of 437 kW (586 hp), paired with a Tremec T5 five-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels through a Ford nine-inch Truetrac limited-slip differential. The 1969 model year brought one of the most substantial redesigns of the first-generation Mustang, introducing a wider and more aggressive body and marking the debut of performance variants including the Mach 1 and Boss models. This car’s chassis number, 9R01F169099, identifies it as a San Jose-built 1969 hardtop originally specified with Ford’s F-code 302ci two-barrel V8 before its subsequent transformation into its current restomod configuration.

The 393ci Windsor build incorporates a forged Eagle crankshaft and rotating assembly, Edelbrock aluminium cylinder heads, hydraulic roller camshaft and valvetrain, FiTech EFI intake, MSD ignition, upgraded fuel and cooling systems and a custom exhaust. The driveline combines the Tremec five-speed with a 3.75:1 Truetrac nine-inch differential and 31-spline axles. Wilwood disc brakes are fitted front and rear, together with lowered suspension, upgraded steering and associated chassis components.

Finished in custom Pepper Grey with matte black striping, the Mustang has been extensively reworked throughout, with the build specification recording rust removal, a replacement windscreen, Shelby-inspired bonnet treatment, billet grille, GT-style front valance and billet Shelby-style wheels. The cabin has also been comprehensively upgraded with four Recaro leather seats, custom leather trim and console, suede headlining, sound deadening, a Dakota Digital instrument display, electric windows and a substantial Rockford Fosgate audio system.

The car was imported to Australia in approximately 2010 and has had two Australian owners since that time, with the current owner acquiring it in 2014. A comprehensive restoration and restomod build was subsequently undertaken, with the seller advising that the major running gear has covered fewer than 3,000 miles since completion. Servicing has been carried out annually by an independent workshop.

According to the seller, the exterior and custom interior present very well following the restoration, with only a small mark noted to the rear boot area. The seller advises that there is currently a minor power-steering fluid leak, the air conditioning requires a regas and the interior AFR gauge is disconnected.
