This 1969 Datsun 2000 Convertible is a restored and professionally upgraded example of Nissan’s late-1960s sports roadster, finished in silver over a black vinyl interior. The odometer shows 60,029 miles. Originally powered by a 2.0-litre inline four, this example is now fitted with a naturally aspirated Nissan SR20DE 16-valve engine paired with a manual gearbox, offering improved drivability within a classic open-top platform.
The Datsun 2000, known internally as the SR311, represented the final and most developed version of Nissan’s Fairlady roadster series. With independent front suspension, sharp steering and strong period performance credentials, the model earned a reputation for balanced handling and competition success. Today, well-restored examples remain highly regarded among classic Japanese sports car enthusiasts.
The current owner has held the vehicle since March 2016. Previous ownership history is unknown.
Servicing has been carried out by Southbank Prestige Service Centre. Original service books are present. The vehicle has undergone a comprehensive restoration, including a bare-metal respray and a full retrim of the black interior. The SR20DE engine conversion is supported by a Queensland modification plate.
Mechanically, the car is reported to be in excellent condition, with no known faults or required work.
Externally, the paintwork presents in excellent condition following restoration. Panels and trim are described as being in outstanding order, with the silver finish pairing cleanly with the black interior. Inside, the retrimmed black vinyl interior presents very well, with no wear or functional issues noted. Seats, carpets, instrumentation and controls are all reported to operate correctly. The primary modification is the SR20DE 16-valve engine conversion paired with a manual transmission. No additional aftermarket modifications are noted.
The vehicle has undergone restoration and respray work as described, with no known accident history.
Included with the sale are servicing receipts and associated documentation.
