This 1968 Ford Mustang Convertible is a Marti Report-documented example finished in factory Acapulco Blue over a two-tone blue vinyl interior, built on 22 March 1968 and originally delivered through the Chicago District Sales Office. Power comes from a 289 cubic inch V8 paired with a C4 Select Shift automatic transmission. The odometer displays 454 miles (TMU).

By 1968, the Mustang had evolved with subtle styling revisions, updated safety features, and an expanded drivetrain range. Convertibles remain among the most sought-after variants of the first-generation car, combining open-top character with the clean chrome-accented beltline that defined the model's early appeal. Late first-generation examples such as this represent the final development phase before the more substantial 1969 redesign.

According to the seller, the Marti Report confirms factory options including a white power-operated soft top with plastic rear window, power steering, AM radio, wheel covers, white sidewall tyres, and a 2.79 conventional rear axle. The car presents in all-original specification with no modifications noted.

The current owner has held the vehicle since 2009, having purchased it in California before importing it to Australia. Servicing during current ownership has been carried out by Longbeach Auto and A1 Tyres in Chelsea, with the most recent service completed in January 2026. The vehicle has received engine and mechanical repairs during its time in Australia. Original service books are present but remain unfilled.

The seller reports the paint is original and presents with age-consistent wear, with no external dents noted. Chrome trim shows surface rust only, and surface corrosion is present on various engine bay components and on the boot floor. The seller advises the interior vinyl is in good condition overall with minor holes but no significant tears, carpets present well, and Mustang floor mats are near new. All electronics are reported as operational. The electric hydraulic system for the power-operated roof is functional. The indicator mechanism requires repair and a replacement mechanism is included with the sale, though the indicator lights are reported to function correctly. The seller reports no accidents, resprays, or major body repairs during current ownership.

Included with the sale are the original jack and spare tyre, a box of original spare parts stored in the boot, a quality car cover, the stereo case and remote control, and the Marti Report.
