This 1967 Morris Mini Cooper S is a genuine example of Britain’s most successful competition-bred small car, celebrated for its motorsport pedigree and engaging driving character. Finished in white with a red roof, it shows 1,000 miles displayed with true mileage unknown and is powered by the 1275cc inline four-cylinder engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission. As a true Cooper S, it remains one of the most desirable classic Minis produced.
Developed in collaboration with John Cooper, the Mini Cooper S transformed the original Mini into a genuine performance car. With increased engine capacity, uprated brakes and suspension, and a significantly improved power-to-weight ratio, the Cooper S quickly proved itself in international competition. Its victories in the Monte Carlo Rally during the 1960s cemented its reputation as one of the most effective giant-killers of the era, capable of outperforming much larger and more powerful cars. Today, genuine Cooper S models are widely regarded as the most desirable and historically significant of all classic Minis, valued for their motorsport pedigree and engaging driving experience.
Ownership history is described as having had a small number of previous custodians. The current owner has owned the car for approximately two and a half years.
Servicing and specialist work has been carried out by Read Speed in Brisbane, a well known classic Mini specialist. Original service books are not present, though a small manual is included with the car, noting it is for a Mini Moke.
Recent work and upgrades include the fitment of hi-lo adjustable suspension, a new fuel pump, an electronic distributor, new extractors and exhaust, a 45 mm Weber carburettor, a 1.5-degree camber kit, half cage and additional gauges. The gearbox was rebuilt at the last service.
Mechanically, the car is reported to be in excellent order, with no known faults or issues to note.
The exterior presents extremely well. The body is described as being in excellent condition, with no notable marks, dents or blemishes. The car was resprayed over five years ago in its original colour combination and continues to present very strongly.
Inside, the interior is in great condition. The front seats were reupholstered approximately 18 months ago, with new webbing and padding fitted. Door cards have been replaced, along with new door and window rubbers, and the cabin presents as tidy and well cared for.
There is no known accident history. As noted, the car was resprayed more than five years ago, with the body described as being in excellent condition.
The Mini is supplied with its original jack and tool kit, along with one ignition key, one door lock key and a steering wheel lock.
