This 1965 Ford Mustang GT350 Tribute car is a tastefully modified example which has been built by the current owner over the last 15 years. It is powered by a naturally-aspirated 347 cubic inch (5.6L) V8 engine which sends outputs to the rear wheels. The car was recently fitted with a TCI automatic gearbox. Its odometer currently displays 3,254 miles. The first-generation Ford Mustang is appreciated all over the world for its iconic styling, V8 power, and muscle car character. Famed American engineer and race car driver Carroll Shelby was one of the first people to realise the model’s importance, turning his hand to tuning and extracting more power from the car.

In 1965 the first Shelby-tuned Mustang rolled out of the Californian production facility in Wimbledon White with Guardsman Blue stripes. All 1965-built GT350s were painted this colour combination, but the important part was the changes under the skin. It featured more power, was lightweight, and upgraded ancillary parts such as brakes. Although these performance upgrades were intentional in order to go racing, the Shelby GT350 was a commercial success and its namesake continued with the most recent Mustang generation. While it doesn’t present in the period correct Wimbledon White, this tribute GT350’s blue colour combination looks smart. It features a set of white GT stripes down the middle and shows blue-and-white vinyl upholstery inside the cabin.

Copious aftermarket modifications have been added to this Mustang including high-performance roller rockers, cam and associated components. It also features an Edelbrock performance manifold, Holley 550 carburettor, Trutrac LSD with 3:89 gear, traction rods, and trumpet exhaust tips. It rides on a set of 16-inch Torq Thrust rims with Marshall tyres. This GT350 was manufactured new in the United States and has been owned by the current custodian for the last 15 years. All regular servicing has been undertaken by Jimmy’s Garage in Epping (VIC). It has just undergone a full engine rebuild as of 18 months ago and the new TCI gearbox was installed one year ago.

The owner notes no major issues with the car but mentions there’s a float in the carburettor that may need attention. Considering this car underwent a full respray five years ago, its paintwork shows in great order. There are no dent marks or scratches on panels, and the blue metallic flakes nicely in the sunlight. Exterior chromework could be polished to bring out a brighter shine. The owner notes some minor stone chips around the stone tray, though no major marks or damage. All four wheels show in good order without noticeable kerb rash.

Inside, this Mustang’s interior has been refurbished approximately five years ago. The seat upholstery pulls taut without sag, while dash panels appear straight and undamaged. There are some subtle scuff marks on the door cards and seats, while early signs of patina are seen on some trim elements. The carpeting and headlining both appear to be in good order without big stains or tears. All accompanying documentation will be supplied with this car, as well as a car cover. As per Trading Garage’s Terms and Conditions, although Trading Garage have completed the following checks, bidders must satisfy themselves to the accuracy of the description and do any research, they feel necessary before bidding.
