This 1965 Ford Mustang Hardtop is an upgraded example enhanced with front disc brakes, suspension improvements, and sympathetic mechanical updates, powered by a 289-cubic-inch V8 paired with an automatic transmission driving the rear wheels, and showing 8,933 miles.

Introduced in 1964, the Ford Mustang quickly established itself as one of the defining American cars of the decade, combining sporty styling, V8 performance, and everyday usability in an affordable package. Early first-generation Mustangs remain highly sought after today, particularly V8-powered examples that retain their classic character while benefiting from sensible usability upgrades.

Finished in Light Blue over a blue vinyl interior, this Hardtop presents well overall according to the seller. The paint retains strong depth and shine, with only a handful of small stone chips and minor imperfections noted upon close inspection. The alloy wheels are described as being in excellent condition, while the cabin presents cleanly with well-preserved trim and only minor fading visible on the front carpets.

According to the seller, the vehicle underwent restoration works between 2002 and 2004, with receipts retained documenting the process. The Mustang was reportedly sold in 2007 showing 95,633 original miles before being imported to Australia by the current owner in 2011 through a contact based in Houston, Texas. The seller advises they are officially the fourth owner and have enjoyed the vehicle locally for nearly 14 years.

Mechanical upgrades completed during current ownership include the installation of a new exhaust system in 2017, while 2020 saw the front drum brakes replaced with discs alongside the addition of a brake booster, new front shocks, and a rear sway bar to improve drivability. The last full service was completed by Golinski Performance in Beenleigh in April 2025.

The seller advises the vehicle is mechanically sound overall, with the only noted issue being a very minor leak from the power steering pump.

Additional modifications include the 2011 Australian compliance process which certified the Mustang as a five-seat vehicle. The seller advises there is no known accident history, while all major repair and repaint work was completed during the early 2000s restoration.

Included in the sale are a number of original parts, including the factory air cleaner and valve covers, front seat belts, air conditioning components and brackets, spare fan, and additional accessories. The seller also notes that all glass aside from the windscreen remains original 1965 production with pale green tinting.
