This 2017 Ultima Evolution V10 is a very unique Australian registered example. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged Audi 5.0-litre V10 engine which develops between 596kW to 680kW depending on fuel quality. This power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. Ultima Sports is a little-known British outfit specialising in track-day kit cars. Though the company was founded more than 40 years ago, the brand flew under the radar until Top Gear popularised its Ultima GTR on its show. Notably, the Ultima GTR720 (the Ultima Evolution’s predecessor) became the quickest road-legal car around the Dunsfold test track.

The Ultima Evolution was revealed in 2015 as a coupe or convertible, usually complete with a GM small block LS- V8 engine. However, this one has been fitted with an Audi-derived V10. Ultimas have some of the best power-to-weight ratios of all road-going sports cars and boast incredible acceleration times as a result. Each and every build is unique and examples rarely change hands, making this opportunity one not to miss. This Ultima Evolution is painted the BMW colour, Pyrite Brown on the outside and specifies a set of black leather/Alcantara seats inside its cabin. Such is the bespoke nature of an Ultima build that each component was selected to the original owner’s tastes.

These parts include MoTec M150 ECU, Murray Coote Racing suspension, electric power-assisted brake booster, electric power steering, vacuum assisted clutch pedal, air-conditioning, PWR radiator, and twin Garrett GTX GEN II turbochargers. Inside the cabin is a set of bucket seats with Willans four-point harnesses. It rides on a set of gold 18-inch forged alloy wheels with AP Racing calipers and Kumho Ecsta tyres. This Ultima was built specifically for the seller and remains a one-owner car to this day. Whereas most Evolution cars utilise small block Chevrolet V8s, this car is powered by a 5.0-litre Audi V10 engine.

The engine features iron sleeves in the cylinders, ARP billet conrods, and SPS forged pistons. This car was set up by the same technician that prepared Brad Sheriff’s record-breaking Bathurst 12 Hour R32 Skyline. It is currently registered on the road in Queensland; Blue Plated under QMR ISV rules. On the outside this Ultima shows in fair order. The brown paintwork reflects light nicely, but there are finer points of stone chipping seen on the front end. Other scuffing and fine scratches are noted around the fuel filler, door handles, and canopy latches.

Cracks in the bodywork are seen on the front bar, while the carbon-fibre front canards are split. There are some small chips in the rear wing struts. Small marks of kerb rash are seen on some wheels. Inside the cabin this car’s stripped-out interior is all business. The bucket seats show minimal creasing or sagging, plus the steering wheel presents in good condition. Scuffing and scratches can be seen around the footwells, as expected with use.

Minor wear and tear is seen on the rear bulkhead. This car will come with a dual-axle tilt trailer and all accompanying documentation.
