This 2005 American IronHorse Slammer is a head-turning example of a modern classic chopper. It is powered by a 1820cc V-twin S&S engine which develops 80kW. This power is sent to the rear wheel through a manual transmission. The odometer states 13,600km. American IronHorse was a custom motorcycle manufacturer based in Texas, United States. It earned a name for creating large displacement V-twin bikes with extravagant tail fins and eccentric styling.

American IronHorse was once the largest factory producer of custom-designed motorbikes in the United States. All manufacturing processes were completed in house – including seats and wheels – aside from their S&S engines. The manufacturer is best known for its wild chopper motorbikes, a style which has become popular through features in film and television. American IronHorse is now defunct, making this example a rare opportunity to purchase a late-build chopper in cared-for condition. As is common for chopper motorbikes, this Slammer is custom painted with a Daytona-style theme and individual tribal graphics.

The blue and silver paintwork is highlighted by chrome components and a white quilt-stitched seat. As standard it features telescopic forks, twin-sided swing arm, Vance & Hines exhaust system, braided fuel lines, and shift lights for the tachometer. It rides on staggered 21-inch front and 18-inch blade-style alloy wheels. This bike was manufactured by American IronHorse in Texas and first registered in July 2005. It has been with the seller in Australia for nearly eight years after being complied in May 2015.

The most recent roadworthy certificate was awarded in December 2020. The most recent maintenance was completed at the same time by C&C Cycles. It involved a new oil filter, transmission oil flush, K&N air filter, new spark plugs, big bore base gaskets, and an electric compression release kit. A new battery was also installed. In terms of physical condition, this bike shows in very good order.

The custom paint job has been cared for and no obvious imperfections are seen. The quality of the paint job is high. There are minor stone chips noted on the side of the fuel tank and a touch-up blemish is identified on the left-side swing arm. Imperfections are seen on the right-hand fork. Chrome elements are polished to a bright shine and the seat remains in good condition without major wear and tear.

This bike will be accompanied by the owner’s manual, a spare key, and the last maintenance receipt.
