This 2004 Maserati Coupe (4200 GT) is an Australian-delivered car that has been placed in storage over the last few years. It is powered by a naturally-aspirated 4.2-litre Ferrari-derived V8 engine that outputs 287kW and 451Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed ‘Cambiocorsa’ automated transmission. The odometer on this car shows 80,035km. The Maserati Coupe is the brand’s turn-of-the-century sports car that builds upon the groundwork laid by the earlier 3200 GT. The car is simply called the Maserati Coupe, which was confusing for buyers, so most refer to the model as the 4200 GT, which references its engine displacement. The gorgeous two-door design was penned by Giugiaro (Italdesign) and was awarded numerous accolades for its contemporary styling. The Maserati Coupe was a rival to other sports cars such as the Jaguar XK8 and Porsche 911. While all three were fast and interesting cars in their own right, the Maserati excelled by providing more character and more feel for drivers and passengers. Today, the Maserati Coupe is still held as a great design and examples have come down in price to an attainable level. This car represents great opportunity to purchase a clean example of a modern classic Italian sports car. Painted in grey metallic and featuring a tan-upholstered interior, this car is sure to find wide appeal. In terms of originality, there are no modifications made to this car and it retains its as-delivered specification. The car rides on a set of body-coloured 18-inch alloy wheels that hide a set of red brake calipers. The tyres are Michelin Pilot Sports. Manufactured in Modena, Italy and delivered new to Australia, this Maserati comes with recent service history at Worx Automotive in Reservoir. There are no known issues with the car’s driveline and the seller states the clutch has plenty of life left in it.

The current owner has held the vehicle since 2018, but the car was placed into storage in 2021 after its last service. No major points of wear and tear are seen on this Maserati’s bodywork. The grey paint still shows good reflections in the light and no endemic swirl marks or holograms are seen in the finish. Some minor points of stone chipping can be seen on areas such as the side mirrors. Small portions of clearcoat appear to have scratched off from the front badge. No obvious kerb rash damage is noted on the wheels, though the seller points out subtle paint chips on the front left. The cabin presents in similarly clean condition. The seller has had worn leather panels on the seats replaced and addressed scuffed sections of the door panels. Some small transfer marks can be seen on the leather, though it hasn’t noticeably discoloured with use. The seats display without sagging or obvious creases. One issue with the car relates to the driver’s window randomly opening when the door is opened. All accompanying documentation and invoices will be provided with this vehicle.
