This 1996 Porsche (993) 911 Carrera Cabriolet is a three-owner example of Porsche’s last air-cooled 911, which has had no expense spared in its upkeep. It is powered by a naturally-aspirated 3.6-litre flat-six-cylinder engine that outputs 200kW (268hp). Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer of this car displays 160,307km. The 993-generation Porsche 911 is widely regarded as one of the best – and most desirable – iterations of the iconic German sports car. It was the last time Porsche used an air-cooled engine (which made its debut with the 911 in 1964) and many regard the 993 as the perfect blend of new technology and classic 911 heritage.

Multilink rear suspension allowed the 911 to keep up dynamically with its newer competition, while mid-range power was bumped thanks to the addition of the unique VarioRam system. Bodywork was also significantly changed with a smoother all-round look and a more aerodynamic profile. The 993 911 is highly regarded as an automotive investment, with manual examples among the most sought-after. Carrera S, Turbo, and RS variants command huge premiums on the used market, though manual Carreras are not far behind. This example is finished in Midnight Blue and specifies a dark blue interior for a smart blue-on-blue colour combination. It also selects a dark blue soft-top roof.

There are no aftermarket modifications made to this car and it retains its original delivery specification – including the factory radio. The car runs on a set of 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Kumho Ecsta tyres. Built in Germany and sold new within Australia, this 993-generation 911 Cabriolet comes with a well-documented service history and was delivered new by Hamiltons Porsche in Melbourne. According to the seller, this is a three-owner car and it has been held by the current owner for the last five years. Recent servicing has been performed by Autohaus Sydney. A major engine rebuild occurred in 2022 and Kenzo ceramic paint protection was applied in 2019.

The external condition of this 993 presents in good order for the car’s age and odometer. Midnight Blue metallic paintwork continues to shine in bright sunlight and the soft-top roof appears with no overt points of scuffing or sagging. Fair stone chip damage is identified on the front end, especially on the bonnet. Scrape damage can be seen underside the front bumper. Subtle swirl marks point towards this car requiring a detail and polish. Minor scuffing is noted on the rear right wheel and minor rust spots have been repaired around the windscreen.

Inside the cabin, the interior presentation of this 993 is a highlight. The seat leather still pulls taut over the seats and no major tears or rips are noted in the hide. Some scuffing and wear is seen on the driver’s side bolsters, as expected with age. Normal crease marks appear on the seat inserts. The carpeting, door panels, and dashboard all appear in fair condition. No major wear and tear is seen on the instrumentation and the carpets appear in clean condition.

All accompanying documentation and manuals will be supplied with this car, in addition to a wind deflector, tools, and soft-top cowl. As per Trading Garage Terms and Conditions, although Trading Garage has completed the following checks bidders must satisfy themselves to the accuracy of the description and do any research they feel necessary before bidding. All listings are sold in Australian dollars. This vehicle is registered in NSW until 01/07/2025. There are no security interests registered on the PPSR against the serial number and is not recorded as written off or stolen.
