This 1993 Range Rover Vogue SE (Classic) is an honest example of an up-and-coming collector car and it boasts a full set of books. Under the bonnet is a naturally-aspirated 3.9-litre Rover V8 engine which outputs 135kW (182hp) to a permanent four-wheel-drive system. The transmission in this example is a four-speed automatic. The odometer of this Range Rover currently displays 237,461km. Before the Range Rover there were virtually no off-road vehicles which could be used every day.

There were Jeeps, Toyota Land Cruisers, and even the Land Rover, but all were considered too harsh and too rugged for on-road use. The Range Rover was imagined in 1970 as the everyday answer to off-roading, which brought comfort and technology to the off-road world. While it still featured a ladder-frame chassis, the Range Rover employed coil-sprung suspension and a full-time four-wheel drivetrain. It was unheard of for the time, but it was even upholstered with plush materials and woodgrain inlays which gave the model a luxury theme. As for an “off the books” project from its inception, the Range Rover has done incredibly well for the brand and continues on sale today.

Early Range Rover Classics like this are becoming must-have off-roaders, with prices holding steady on the used market. This Range Rover is painted white with a grey interior – a combination sure to find wide appeal. Inside the cabin the space is accented by woodgrain trim and a factory sunroof. There appears to be no aftermarket modifications made to this vehicle aside from Narva fog lamps, a Kenwood head unit, and an aftermarket sound system. It rides on a set of 16-inch three-spoke alloy wheels painted in grey.

The tyres fitted are Michelin Synchrome 4x4. This vehicle was manufactured in Solihull, England in January 1993 and was delivered new to its first Sydney owner in April 1993. The car comes with a suite of books and service documentation to substantiate its maintenance history. Exterior condition is fair, though there are several points of damage worth noting. The vehicle shows two large dents in the boot, while early signs of rust tarnishing are seen around the edges of some panels.

This includes the fuel filler door which is bubbling with oxidation, plus the undercarriage is beginning to rust. Paint is otherwise in decent condition with no endemic scratching or fading. The black portions of the front bar display stone chipping from suspected highway use. Wheel faces show in decent order for their age, though there is some kerb damage to rims. Inside the cabin this car presents in decent condition.

There appears to be no splitting or tears on the upholstery which retains a good shape, though elements of the cabin do show a reddish tinge. There are nicks in the door trims in the front and back seats, while woodgrain inlays display minor scratching. The carpeting shows without major wear, but it has picked up stains in the cabin and on the boot load floor. All accompanying documentation will be supplied with this vehicle’s sale.
