This 1975 Lamborghini Urraco P300 is an exceptionally original, matching numbers, right-hand-drive example of Lamborghini’s mid-engined 1970s V8, finished in its factory colour of Luci del Bosco (Lights of the Forest) over a tan interior. The odometer shows an indicated 16,548 Km (116,548 Km believed to be the true milage). Power comes from a 3.0-litre quad-cam V8 engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission, driving the rear wheels.
Built late in 1975, this car is one of just 205 Urraco P300s produced and one of only 30 factory right-hand-drive examples. It was delivered new in 1976 to Captain Brian Lewis, an Australian pilot for Cathay Pacific then living in Hong Kong. Captain Lewis had previously owned a 2.5-litre P250 Urraco while based in the United Kingdom, and when the improved 3.0-litre P300 became available, he ordered one new — finished in the same Luci del Bosco hue he’d loved on his first car. This distinctive colour was chosen by Lamborghini for many of its period brochures, manuals, and promotional materials.
Captain Lewis owned this Urraco for 45 years, making it a one-owner car until his passing in 2021. After moving back to Australia in 1986, he brought the car with him to New South Wales, where it remained in his care until his death. The current custodian acquired the car directly from the Lewis family estate in mid-2022, becoming only the second owner in nearly half a century.
Following its acquisition, the Urraco was entrusted to Lamborghini specialist Paul Placzek of Classic and Sports Cars in Victoria, who described it as “the most original, untampered Urraco he has seen for years.” Although the car had seen limited use in the later years of Captain Lewis’s ownership, it underwent a comprehensive mechanical recommission in early 2022.
The engine was removed and partially rebuilt, with the cylinder heads refurbished, valves reseated, and worn valve guides replaced. The bottom end was inspected and found to be in excellent condition. The engine was resealed, the exhaust system sandblasted and ceramic coated, the carburettors rebuilt, and the air-conditioning system renewed with a modern rotary compressor. Every component requiring attention was serviced or restored.
Once mechanically refreshed, the car was sent to Trutrack for a full suspension overhaul. Custom springs and shock absorbers were produced to original factory specifications, with extensive rebushing throughout. The result is a car that drives beautifully, combining balanced handling and sure-footed performance with the unmistakable sound of Lamborghini’s high-revving quad-cam V8.
The body and interior remain in superb original condition, reflecting decades of careful ownership. The Luci del Bosco paintwork presents with a deep, consistent gloss and minor stone chips consistent with age. Inside, the original tan interior shows only light wear and slight fading of the dashboard’s mouse-hair trim, preserving its authentic character. The car has never been restored, making it an exceptionally rare survivor.
Accompanying the sale is the complete original toolkit — an extraordinary rarity — as well as the factory service books, owner’s manual, parts list, and two sets of original keys. Additional materials include period sales brochures, a rare factory colour and leather options chart, and a large archive of documentation containing receipts, photos, shipping papers, and correspondence with Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A.
Fully serviced, mechanically sorted, and remarkably original, this Urraco P300 stands as one of the finest surviving right-hand-drive examples in existence — a true time capsule representing the purity of Lamborghini’s 1970s engineering and design.
As per Trading Garage Terms and Conditions, although Trading Garage has completed the following checks, bidders must satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description and undertake any research they feel necessary before bidding. A highly original, two-owner Lamborghini Urraco P300 — beautifully preserved, mechanically rejuvenated, and presented in its factory Luci del Bosco livery — offering a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most authentic and well-documented examples of Lamborghini’s mid-engined V8 era.
