This 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 is a limited-run variant in unmodified condition. It is a matching-numbers car which was last restored in 2010. It is powered by a naturally-aspirated 429 cubic inch (7.0-litre) Ford 385 V8 engine which sends 280kW and 610Nm to the rear wheels. A four-speed manual transmission is fitted to this vehicle. The odometer currently displays 33,303 miles. It's arguably the most desirable variant of the most desirable muscle car of all time – the Ford Mustang Boss 429 commands respect all around the world for its sheer power and incredible origin story. In the late 1960s, Ford was already winning buyers with its small-block Boss 302 Mustang.

However, buyers were clamouring for a big-block alternative. It just so happened that Ford needed a production car to homologate its new line of Ford 385 V8 engines in order to go NASCAR racing. So, the two requirements fit hand in hand and the Ford Mustang Boss 429 was born. NASCAR rules required 500 road-going production cars, so the limited model was only offered in 1969 and 1970 for a grand total of 1359 cars ever built. The 1969 cars can be distinguished by body-coloured bonnet intakes and all-black interiors. Just five colours were offered. Finished in Royal Maroon and upholstered with a black-trim interior, this striking Boss 429 can be mistaken for nothing else.

Woodgrain trim inlays can be seen inside the cabin, while chrome accents highlight the exterior bumpers. This car retains its original colour combination and no aftermarket modifications are fitted to the car. It was optioned with extras such as power front disc brakes, power steering, AM radio, Competition suspension, and a front air spoiler. It rides on a set of 15-inch wheels wrapped in Goodyear Polyglas GT tyres. This Mustang was manufactured by Ford in Dearborn, Michigan in March 1969 and delivered new through Texas Motors in Dallas Fort Worth, Texas. The accompanying Marti report certifies its authenticity. Little information is shared about its maintenance or service history; which is described as “mixed”.

The car’s date of importation to Australia is unknown, but it was registered to a Californian owner as recently as 2008. The car underwent a multi-year restoration throughout the 2000s which ended in 2010. With respect to this Mustang’s age, this example continues to show in brilliant condition throughout. The Royal Maroon paint appears in flawless order without imperfections or swirl marks, while the chrome trim shines brightly. External badges and stickers remain in perfect, unmarked condition. No marks of kerb rash are noted on the wheels, though the white tyre lettering has yellowed with age. Inside, the cabin is in untouched condition.

The black vinyl on the seats appears without scuffs or tears, while the seats retain an original shape. No damage is noted on the headlining and no stains or wear can be seen on the carpets. Similarly, the woodgrain trim inlays present without weathering. This car will come with all accompanying service books, a spare key, a Marti report, and other relevant documents displayed in pictures. All accompanying documentation will be supplied with this car.
