2016 HSV Clubsport R8 LSA
This 2016 HSV Clubsport R8 LSA is a high watermark of Australian performance cars featuring the venerable LSA engine. It is powered by a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 engine outputting 410kW/691Nm to the rear wheels. This example is fitted with a six-speed manual transmission and can run from zero to 100km/h in 4.6 seconds. It currently shows only 3,169km on its odometer since new.
As HSV’s local manufacturing began to wind down, the company started to release some special cars to commemorate its history. It began fitting the supercharged LSA V8 of the flagship HSV GTS to entry-level models like the Clubsport R8, bumping power by a whopping 70kW over its predecessor. In addition to the power bump, the Clubsport R8 LSA was fitted with a recalibrated bi-modal exhaust, AP Racing brakes, a head-up display, launch control and a driver preference dial with Competition Mode.
This car is finished in Nitrate paintwork over Onyx Black leather upholstery and presents in tidy, unmodified condition. Some attributes are painted in Pitch Black, such as the mirror caps, bonnet vents, fender vents, splitter, and side skirt. It currently sits on a set of original 20-inch HSV alloy wheels with machined face and matte black accents, while red four-piston brake calipers are found underneath. Tyres are the original Continental ContiSportContact units. As part of the factory Clubsport R8 specification, this car is fitted with an electrically-adjustable driver’s seat, alloy pedals, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry and start, and an 8.0-inch Bluetooth touchscreen infotainment with Bose sound system.
Manufactured in Clayton, Victoria in late 2016, this is a two-owner example which was purchased by the current owner at the beginning of 2020. It has an HSV/Holden service history through the official dealer network, the last service was completed in June 2021 where no items of concern were raised. This car is fitted with paint protection film on the front and rear ends.
Owing to its minimal use over the years and paint protection film, the exterior of this Clubsport R8 presents flawlessly. The Nitrate silver paintwork shines in the sun with no signs of scratching or damage, while there are no marks or dents to be seen on the body either. No signs of curb rash are seen on any of the four alloy wheels and there’s a deep amount of tread remaining on all four tyres.
Much like its exterior, the cabin of this Clubsport R8 LSA looks fantastic for its age. Next to no signs of use can be seen on the seats which retain their original shape. Other materials about the cabin look unused, while the original floor mats are retained. All infotainment and screen functions operate as normal and no dash warning signs show.
All accompanying service history, manuals, and documentation will be supplied with a successful sale. Two original keys and a full size spare wheel are retained, ready for the next owner.
