2013 Porsche (981) Boxster - Manual

This 2013 Porsche Boxster (981) is a complete example of Porsche’s iconic roadster featuring full books, two keys, and a two-owner history. A mid-mounted naturally-aspirated 2.7-litre flat-six-cylinder engine produces 194kW (260hp) which is sent through the rear wheels. In this example you’ll find a six-speed manual gearbox. The odometer currently shows 64,691km.

Throughout its relatively short history the Porsche Boxster has long held the unfair title of the “poor man’s 911”. Through the 986 and 987 generations the Boxster was far overshadowed by its bigger sports car sibling, but the 981 Porsche Boxster well and truly stopped that trope dead in its tracks. The 981 Boxster adopted a much more appropriate sports car stance with a lengthened wheelbase and widened track at the front and rear. It was also steadier through corners despite the fact it loses structural rigidity due to its soft-top nature. The styling borrows cues from the 918 Spyder hypercar and tech is shared with the 911 range. Ultimately this resulted in a Boxster driving experience that came perilously close to the 911’s own. It even worried Porsche itself that the Boxster would encroach too much on the sale of its more profitable 911 range-mate.

Finished in metallic silver on the exterior and featuring a black leather-upholstered cabin, this Boxster’s silver-and-black theme ties-in smartly. Continuing the look is a black cloth fabric roof while the wheels are painted black. There have been no aftermarket modifications made to this car and it retains its original specification. It does come with a wind deflector. The fitted wheels are 20-inch Carrera alloys which hide a set of black brake calipers. Tyres are near-new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S.

Built new in Germany and complied in Australia in January 2013, this Boxster has lived entirely within Brisbane since new. Having been delivered through Porsche Centre Gold Coast, the original buyer continued to service the car through that dealership – as does the current owner. It is now a two-owner car and was recently serviced in November 2022 – no items of fault have been raised with the car.

Exterior-wise this Boxster shows in great order exhibiting considerate use. The silver paintwork shows in excellent condition overall and no marks of scratching or warping are seen. Likewise, the black fabric of the soft-top roof has fared well with age. Minor stone chipping is noted on the front bar and bonnet. All four alloy wheels are unmarked of paint scratching or kerb rash, while the Michelin tyres were recently replaced.

Inside the cabin there are minimal signs of use. The leather seats do not exhibit obvious crease damage and the leather holds a good original shape. Carpeting and door cards also show in great order for the car’s age. The steering wheel shows a small blemish which can be seen in photos.

This car will come with original books, two sets of keys, and a full Porsche Centre Gold Coast service history.
