THE AUCTION IS UNDER PROXY BIDDING
2013 Mercedes-Benz (C218) CLS500
This 2013 Mercedes CLS500 (C218) is a high-specification, low mileage CLS example which has a full Mercedes-Benz service history and one owner since new. Under the bonnet is a twin-turbocharged 4.7-litre V8 engine which outputs 300kW/600Nm to the rear wheels. The transmission in this car is a seven-speed automatic. This car’s odometer currently shows only 57,747km.
Arguably one of the first manufacturers to design the modern-day four-door coupe, Mercedes-Benz introduced the CLS in 2004 at the New York International Auto Show. It’s positioned between the E-Class and S-Class in the Mercedes-Benz line-up. However, it is arguably one of the most stylish sedan offerings, complete with high-end materials and a powerful engine, which cements its place as a luxurious tourer. While not a fully-fled AMG model, the CLS500 has effortless overtaking power and a sharp handling character that belies the car’s size. Inside the cabin the CLS is a tech-laden command centre with all manner of intuitive convenience features and entertainment functionality. Woodgrain trim inlays, metallic finishes, and genuine leather seating make the space feel sophisticated. Today, the second-generation CLS is renowned for championing Mercedes-Benz design at a palatable price point.
Finished in black on the outside with Ivory nappa leather upholstering the cabin, this CLS specification flies under the radar. Woodgrain trim adorns the dash and door cards, while black leather is found atop the dash. There are no noted aftermarket modifications to the car and it keeps its as-delivered specification. The car rides on a set of 19-inch special order Mercedes-Benz alloy wheels wrapped in Continental tyres.
This car was built new in Germany in mid 2011 and Australian complied in January 2013. It was delivered new through Mercedes-Benz Sydney to its first and only owner. All servicing has been carried out on-time through Mercedes-Benz Sydney or Sandersons Mercedes at Rushcutters Bay. The scheduled ‘A’ service was recently completed in August 2022 and the seller notes there are no mechanical faults.
Exterior condition of this CLS500 has fared very well over the last nine years, helped by a low mileage. The black paintwork reflects light well in the sunlight and displays no obvious marks, while all trims remain in good condition. There is one point of stone chipping on the bonnet and one on the rear door, though both have been touched-up. All four alloy wheels appear without kerb rash damage while the Continental tyres are just 2000km old.
Inside the cabin this CLS has been kept in immaculate order. The Ivory leather seating has escaped obvious wear and tear and there are no signs of creasing on the active bolsters. Elements such as the dash, door cards, and headlining all appear without scuffing or marks. The rear seat space has seen little use and shows in great order.
This car will come with original equipment including two keys, first aid kit, tool kit, MG plastic boot mat, and service documentation. The registration will expire in January 2023.
