This 2012 Mini Cooper S Goodwood is a rare one-of-10 Australian-delivered special editions, which was specially-developed alongside Rolls-Royce. It is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine which outputs power to the front wheels. This car’s 135kW (181hp) outputs are sent through a six-speed automatic transmission. The odometer of this special edition Mini currently displays 31,661km.

Everyone knows the Mini for its cult-classic status, whether it’s the BMC original or the BMW-owned light hatchback offered in showrooms today. But the British marque isn’t shy of a special edition to further set the unique model aside from its peers, which is exactly the case with the Mini Cooper S “Inspired By Goodwood”. This limited-edition variant features luxurious paint and leather finishes chosen exclusively by Rolls-Royce, while it also ditches the classic bonnet scoop for a regal presence. The interior is presented with luxurious appointments befitting of its Rolls-Royce brand-mate. This special edition is one of 1000 examples overall, where just 10 were offered locally in Australia. They were said to cost $74,500 from new – some $30,000 more than the base model R56-generation Mini Cooper S. It was the most expensive light car in the country when it went on sale just over 10 years ago.

Finished in Diamond Black metallic paintwork with a Cornsilk leather interior, every aspect of this Mini’s presentation has been considered by Rolls-Royce. The exterior is highlighted by chrome trim and the interior features rich walnut veneer woodgrain inlays. Aspects such as the headliner, sun visors, parcel shelf and roof pillars are covered in cashmere. It also receives a set of thick lambswool floor mats. The car rides on a set of 17-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli Cinturato tyres.

This Mini Goodwood was sold new by Mini Adelaide to a Sydney-based customer – such was the desirability (and limited availability) at the time. It is reportedly one of 10 examples which were sold new by Mini Australia. The car has seen regular maintenance by Mini dealerships and it will be serviced with BMW/Mini Brighton imminently.

Exterior condition is presented in very good order owing to the minimal mileage this car has seen over the last decade. There are next to no signs of imperfection or swirl marking seen on the black paintwork, while no stone chipping detracts from the car’s prominent fascia. No body panel damage is evident on this car. Its four wheels display no noticeable kerb rash and deep tread is seen in the tyres.

Inside the cabin this Mini Goodwood has obviously been cared for. The Cornsilk leather covering the seats and door cards displays without nicks or transfer marks and the uniquely appointed woodgrain trim shows without deformation or flaking. The car’s original driver’s side lambswool floor mat has been misplaced, however the seller will factory-order a new set if the auction reserve price is met.

This car will come with its original owner’s manual, service booklets, and two keys.
