2012 BMW (F10) M5
This 2012 BMW M5 (F10) is a well-presented and Australian-delivered example of BMW’s iconic sports sedan. Under the bonnet lies a twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 engine which produces 412kW/680Nm. This power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission in this car’s case. The odometer of currently displays 88,797km.
The fifth-generation BMW M5 was the first model to feature a turbocharged powertrain, much to the dismay of its fanbase. It was thought the move to forced induction, following the wonderfully characterful (S85) V10 engine of its predecessor, would dull some of the raucous M5 nature. However, the F10 M5 quickly won-over its doubters. Automotive media and BMW fanatics alike came to love a new era of turbocharged M5 for its unique driving experience. In addition to being one of the best all-round everyday sports cars on the market with a luxurious interior and tech-laden interface, the F10 M5 offered a snappy and sprightly driving experience. The F10 M5 feels far more nimble than you’d think, given its size. Today the F10 M5 represents a great used car buy, offering a lot of car for the money.
This F10 M5 offers a subdued colour specification that pairs a grey-painted body with a cream leather-upholstered cabin. There are sinister, black-painted tweaks to the exterior such as the blacked-out grille and badges, while the interior is highlighted by unique aspects such as the suede headlining. The owner notes no aftermarket modifications added to this car and it retains its original factory colour specification. It currently rides on a set of 20-inch black-painted M5 wheels with minor curb damage. The rear wheels are wrapped in Winrun tyres, with the front wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport. The car features blue brake calipers.
Built in December 2011 by BMW at its Dingolfing, Germany factory, this F10 M5 was delivered new to Australia. The current owner states the vehicle has a full service history; the most recent service was completed by AutoStar. Recent works have also included a set of new genuine BMW brakes. It has been owned by the seller since June 2022 and has been used sparingly on weekends. According to the seller it has not suffered any accidents and runs in perfect condition.
The exterior condition has been well preserved for more than a decade. The grey paintwork shows true reflections and shines nicely in the light, while no obvious swirl marking or paint hologramming is seen in the finish. There are no dents or scratches seen anywhere on the body work. Picky buyers will note the slight paint fade on the front M5 badge and the paint fading on BMW centre caps, though these are minor imperfections which are easily rectified. All four wheels display in good condition without kerb rash.
Inside the cabin this F10 M5 has been similarly well kept. The cream leather upholstery shows no obvious signs of sagging fabric, though some light points of colour transfer is identified on the seat bases. Likewise, the black trim pieces all show in good condition without noticeable wear and tear. The carpeting is clean of any fraying or tears, while the dash leather appears in great order.
