2009 Porsche 911 (997.2) Carrera
This 2009 Porsche 911 Carrera (997) is a well-presented facelift example of Porsche’s celebrated sports car, having just two owners since new. Under the rear decklid sits a naturally-aspirated 3.6-litre flat-six-cylinder engine which produces 254kW (304hp). This power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The odometer of this car currently displays 44,891km.
The Porsche 997-generation 911 was first unveiled in 2004. It was a wholesale revision of the previous 996 shape, albeit updating key components such as the new front (and rear) styling, an updated cabin with new tech and features, as well as a subtle power enhancement. The facelifted 997 Gen II model sported even subtler changes at its debut in 2009, but the tweaks cumulatively added-up to an all-round better car. These tweaks included a new dual-clutch PDK gearbox, redesigned infotainment, new direct fuel injection engine, revised suspension, and sleek new lights at the front and rear. The 997 is appreciated as the first true water-cooled 911 which lived up to its promise and is notably capable of delivering a polished driving experience whether you’re driving it to work or driving it at a racetrack.
Painted black on the outside with a matching black leather interior, this 911’s colour combination will find wide appeal. There are no aftermarket modifications or tweaks to its original condition. Option boxes were ticked including Sport Chrono and a Bose sound system. The car rides on a set of 18-inch silver alloy wheels with silver calipers hiding underneath. The wheels are currently wrapped with Bridgestone Potenza/Continental ContiSportContact tyres.
Built new at Porsche’s factory in Zuffenhausen, Germany and delivered new to Australia, this 911 is well-documented and has a traceable history. It was delivered in May 2009 to its first owner through Porsche Centre Alexandria and is still serviced with that dealership today. It is now a two-owner car after the seller purchased the vehicle through Porsche Centre Alexandria in 2016. The most recent maintenance was recorded in mid-2022 by Porsche Centre Alexandria. Both keys were replaced at that time.
The exterior condition of this 911 presents fairly for its age. The black paintwork does not show overt scratching, while a nice reflection remains on the finish. Some points of swirl marking are seen on the front quarter panel and rear bumper. Persistent stone chipping is seen on the front bar and on the bonnet, and the front splitter also displays scrape damage. The car’s rear quarter panels have been protected by paint protection film. Minor kerb rash damage is identified on the wheels.
Inside the cabin this 911 presents well. The black leather has escaped obvious wear and tear, while relatively few marks of creasing are seen in the seat bolsters. Switchgear and instrumentation dials show without wear and the dash leather is in good condition. The driver’s side door sill and door card show minor scratching at touch points. Carpeting is clean of any stains or tears.
All accompanying documentation including original service books, owner’s manuals, and a quick reference guide will be supplied. The car is supplied with two keys.
