2009 Mercedes-Benz (R230) SL350
This 2009 Mercedes-Benz (R230) SL350 is a two-owner car since new and sports a classy colour combination. It is powered by a naturally-aspirated 3.5-litre V6 engine which sends 232kW/360Nm to the rear wheels. A seven-speed automatic transmission allows the SL350 to sprint to 100km/h from rest in 6.2 seconds. This example currently displays 77,219km on its odometer since new.
Mercedes-Benz has long prided itself on its ability to create a car that’s both luxurious and sporting – two attributes typified by the famous SL-Class. It’s one of Mercedes’ longest-running nameplates, first seen on the 300SL which made its debut in 1954. The R230-generation of SL was introduced in 2001, though this is the second facelift which brought angular, aggressive styling and power enhancements. Aspects of the interior were also modernised to bring the car in-line with Mercedes new design philosophy. The R230 was the first SL to feature a folding metal hard-top roof, though because the car was designed as a convertible from the ground up, it exhibits very little body shake. The R230 SL is known as one of the true sporting convertibles that blends performance with comfort.
This example is painted Tenorite Grey metallic on the exterior and is fitted with black leather upholstery. The cabin is accented by woodgrain inserts while features include heated, ventilated and massage seats, a 10-speaker stereo system, dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth, parking sensors, Air Scarf, and a six-disc CD stacker. The car currently rides on a set of 18-inch Mercedes-Benz alloy wheels which come wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4/Dunlop SP Sport tyres.
Delivered through Mercedes-Benz Melbourne in 2009, this SL350 has passed through the hands of just two owners since new. It has been regularly maintained through a series of both genuine and genuine-independent service centres, with the most recent servicing taking place in January 2022. The owner describes the vehicle as being in great mechanical condition and it drives faultlessly. No modifications have been made to this vehicle.
The exterior condition of this SL350 is best described as very good. The Tenorite Grey paintwork looks to be in fantastic condition for its age, showing true reflections and minimal signs of scratching. All exterior trim pieces look to be in good tact, while the folding hard-top roof operates as intended. The owner describes some minor body marks that grace the exterior, though nothing that detracts from the car’s overall presentation. All four alloy wheels show no signs of curb rash while the tyres look to be in decent condition.
Interior-wise, this SL has been kept in excellent shape over the last 13 years. The black leather upholstery shows in good order throughout, while interior trimmings display minimal signs of wear. Some minor creasing can be seen on the driver’s seat, though this is commensurate with age. Both the carpeting and woodgrain elements are clean and undamaged. All interior infotainment features function as intended.
This car will be supplied with original documentation including service booklets.
