2008 Porsche (987) Boxster - Manual

This 2008 Porsche Boxster (987) presents in a clean black colour combination and retains a full service history since new. It is powered by a naturally-aspirated 2.7-litre flat-six-cylinder engine which outputs 183kW (245hp) to the rear wheels. This car features a five-speed manual transmission. Its odometer currently shows 70,896km.

Though it’s often overshadowed by its bigger 911 sibling the Porsche Boxster remains one of the brand’s most driver-centric models, complete with an open-air roof-down driving experience. The 987 is the second-generation Boxster which launched in 2004 with similar underpinnings to its predecessor. However, styling was updated to mimic the profile and highlights of Porsche’s then-flagship, the Carrera GT. It also received a refreshed interior which further distinguished it against the 911. For the 2007 model year the base Porsche Boxster received a revised engine featuring VarioCam Plus. This brought the entry-level variant a boost in power equivalent to its Cayman alternative. The 987 Boxster is now a great entry point to Porsche ownership and maintained examples, such as this one, are reliable even 15 years later.

Featuring a metallic black-painted exterior with a matching black leather interior, this Boxster’s colour combination stands the test of time and will find wide appeal. There are no obvious aftermarket changes to the vehicle’s exterior presentation, though the owner has fitted an Alpine touchscreen head unit (original is supplied with sale). The car rides on its original set of 19-inch Porsche alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin tyres.

This Boxster was built new in Germany and delivered new to Australia through Porsche Centre Melbourne. It is now a three-owner car. All servicing has been performed by official Porsche dealerships or Porsche specialist independents. Most recent maintenance has been completed by Cascone Auto Sport; the last service was in May 2022.

Exterior condition shows in good order throughout. The metallic paintwork retains a nice shine under sunlight and no holograms or swirl marks are seen on body panels. The front bumper shows a few stone chips and the underside of the front splitter has taken some scrape damage. The soft-top roof pulls taught over the frame and displays in good condition without wear and tear. There is some minor kerb rash damage on the wheels, though nothing obvious. The rear Michelin tyres are beginning to show tread wear.

Inside the cabin it displays in similarly clean condition. The black leather seats show minimal signs of use and the seat bolsters remain uncreased. There is some minor scratching to touch points such as switchgear and the gear selector. The dash and door cards show minimal wear and tear, while the carpeting is unstained and clean.

This car will come with a suite of original delivery documents and a full service history.
