2008 Porsche 911 (997) Carrera 4S Cabriolet - Manual
This 2008 Porsche 911 (997) Carrera 4S Cabriolet is an Australian delivered example which features a full service history and a clean specification. Under the rear decklid sits a naturally-aspirated 3.8-litre flat-six-cylinder engine which outputs 265kW and 400Nm to an all-wheel-drive system. This car is specification with a six-speed manual transmission. It currently shows 145,882km on its odometer.
Porsche introduced the 997-generation Porsche 911 in 2004. It followed hot on the heels of the 996 and, though it was a wholesale revision of the 996, it brought exterior and interior styling that far advanced the 911’s standings in the sports-car market. Porsche again offered an S variant which could be had in all-wheel-drive. Over standard-spec Carreras, the Carrera 4S variant included a larger-displacement engine, bigger-diameter wheels, lowered suspension with adaptive dampers, a sports exhaust, and aluminium trim highlights. Interestingly for the first time on a 911, Porsche led the development of the 997-generation with the cabriolet, with the hard-top counterpart following. This was to ensure the soft-top version performs near-identical to the coupe dynamically. Today, high-specification 997s are revered as a desirable 911 generation which can be enjoyed in all scenarios.
This Carrera 4S colour combination will find wide appeal thanks to a black-painted exterior and black upholstery inside. The soft-top roof is black fabric. No aftermarket modifications are listed alongside this car’s condition. Its cabin features white gauges inside the cluster and an option-up Bose stereo tied to the factory PCM infotainment system. The car rides on a set of 19-inch Porsche alloy wheels which hide a set of red brake calipers. Tyres are Pirelli P Zeros.
Manufactured new in Zuffenhausen, Germany, this 911 was delivered new through Porsche Centre Melbourne. It has been in the care of the seller for the last seven year. Servicing has been undertaken by a variety of official Porsche dealerships in addition to independents. Most recent maintenance was completed by Indy Automotive Repairs in Moorabbin, VIC in April 2022. Very few kilometres have been driven since.
This car’s exterior condition still presents in great order throughout. The black paintwork has been kept in good condition overall, with next to no marking or scratches seen on bodywork. The car does exhibit some light stone chip peppering on the front end, consistent with use. There are no signs of damage or scuffs on the soft-top roof. The wheels largely show in good order without major kerb rash (though the front left does have some more significant scuffing) and the Pirelli tyres appear to retain good tread.
Inside the cabin this 911 has been kept in good condition. Most signs of wear and tear are only seen on touch points such as the door handle, handbrake, gearshift, and around the switchgear. The black leather upholstery shows some minor creasing, though it’s nothing out of the ordinary and the seats retain a good shape. Carpeting and the soft-top headlining both show in good order.
This car will come with its fully-documented service history.
